I guess now we have questions: Are only these 4 machines going to be shipped for some kind of location test? Will there be more machines that will be shipped, and made available for most (if not all) locations? Will we get that new 120hz model cabinet in the future?



From R1's Instagram. Chunithm and Tetote Connect coming real soon! Really curious to see what version of Chunithm we'll be getting. Hopefully if this pans out, maybe we'll get the new model, as well.

I want to look at the bigger picture, with this. This could be some kind of test; Sega could be secretly tracking how much people might play this game, because for YEARS, it's been a highly requested game that people wanted to see come to R1. I want to think that if it's successful enough, maybe Sega will give us a US version of a newer game, maybe even give us the new cabs.

At worst, this game is still super rare in the US; the only places I've ever seen have Chunithm have been travelling arcades that are at
anime/furry conventions, and the very few mom and pop specialty arcades peppered throughout the country.

I hope to God this isn't all we're ever going to get, of course, but it has been a while since we received any new music games.

Yep, one of the techs at a local Round1 told me that we're getting Chunithm sometime in the next two months, along with some other new rhythm games like DanceAround.

Kinda surprised Dance Around is coming, as well. We haven't heard anything about that game since the location test, and... let's just say I hope to god they fixed the motion tracking in their cameras. >>

Now, the one thing we REALLY need at R1? SDVX Valkyrie cabs with a North America build. (I found out that there actually is an English version of the game, but you have to change the region in the game's config file. Why there's still no language selector is beyond me.)

What's up with Dance Around? Idk much about it other than that it got announced.

Unless the poster who mentioned it confused it with Tetote Connect (which is very similar, ngl), I hope the camera tracks you more reliably since the location test. >>

Yeah, Chunithm at R1 us will be offline paradise lost. Will be coming alongside Chrono Circle and Tetote Connect within the next few weeks ideally

Thought they weren’t gonna do that!! They said international, but so far it was just China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea. Glad it’s actually gonna come

to be fair, "international" is actually just "asia" version as detailed by it's listing within the Aime frontend. Sega don't have any licence to officially distribute outside of South East Asia at this point in time. It's well known at this point that the machines are second hand japanese cabinets due to the hardware upgrades that took place in Japan, but as they are offline sega's making no money from these machines at all.
It's the same situation as official MaiMai support.

But I think this is a good gateway for sega to get support up and running, with having many machines already distributed in select stores around the country, you've already got a headstart into the market have they all go online

The only thing about this post is that it's also in Singapore, Thailand, Macau, Vietnam, Australia and formerly New Zealand (their one cabinet was removed from the store)

So how much is removed? Just the anime music?

IIRC Most of the anime music and all but one license. None of the Bemani crossovers are present. Mostly originals, SEGA crossover tracks and vocaloid.
