I'm a new member, so I'm sorry if I post this in the wrong section.
I just bought a dancing pad yesterday hoping I can do some exercise at home. I'm Using Stepmania 5.0.12 on my PC, but I can't play it with the dancing pad.
The seller included a CD with an old Stepmania installer in it and I can use the dancing pad without any problem.

Is it not working because the dancing pad is not compatible with Stepmania 5.0.12? If so, can someone suggest to me a good dance pad that is compatible with the new Stepmania? Or a link to the store (preferably amazon) if possible

You need to check first if your gamepad is recognized by your OS, if it does it, SM5 and up are most compatible than SM3.X you could try using joytokey or xpadder if your OS recognizes it and the game doesn't.

Can't use Xpadder because I'm using windows 10. And Joytokey doesn't detenct may dancing pad. And I'm not using joystick or something like that. I'm trying to configure a dance pad. The one you use your feet to push the button

Try uninstall your SM 5.0.12 and use this instead (link below). Buttons are pre-configured already for soft pads. Just extract the content to any location (preferrably not drive C if you have more than 1 drive)
SM 5.1 for softpad users
Make a shortcut link of StepMania.exe from StepMania 5.1/Program folder, to your desktop.
