You can't make the screen filter darker, enable FAST/SLOW, change arrow shape, or put judgement behind the playfield because those are options that are set online via the eAmuse site for DDR A20 PLUS. Seeing as this is just a port of that game, you can't change those settings at all until they add them in-game or if they add a separate page for this game where you can do so.

Hidden/sudden+ and speed mod change during game play button mappings are literally in the options. If you can’t change them because they aren’t implemented that’s a stupid thing to have mappable.

I didn't say those options weren't changeable. They are. Hidden+/Sudden+ moves up and down with the press of those mapped buttons and can be enabled/disabled during gameplay. Speed mod can only be changed at the beginning of a song.

The options that I explicitly stated in my previous post are not changeable because they depend on what you have set on the eAmuse website for the arcade game.

I guess I got confused because your post followed mine so it seemed like a response to me saying those things couldn't be changed. But I've been hitting those keys and they definitely don't change hidden/sudden+ or the speed mods like the button mapping screen says they should.

I recommend Google Translate on your phone. You can use the camera to translate languages with it. Click the image in the first post and go from there to register an account and get it downloaded.

Sadly, this seems to be Konami's SOP for their PC Konaste releases these days. I think SDVX is the only one that still allows logging in straight from the launcher. Infinitas used to, but the 2020 version changed that (though it's the only one I'm aware of that doesn't try and close the page a certain period of time after starting the game...). It's annoying for me because I use Chrome to navigate Japanese websites (with Google Translate), but Firefox is my default browser.

I messed around with this a little bit when I first heard about it. The fact that the Premium Play/Normal Play options exist makes me wonder if Konami plans on going the SDVX route and doing tickets, with maybe an infinite type sub as an option.

Score saving I expect will be in the final version. SDVX's alpha did save scores, but they didn't transfer to the final release.

Apparently, some new/revived licenses have been added in a separate "GRAND PRIX" mix folder as well. Interesting to see the new songs debut in this game rather than in the arcade.

This is cool news to wake up to. Does it actually save scores now? And can we adjust the extra stuff you need eAmuse for on A20 Plus or is that still not set up? The song list on the website looks good, but if they won’t make it fully featured I’ll stick with Stepmania. If it’s fully featured I’ll happily pay for it.

Scores are not saved until you purchase the monthly subscription. So far, I have yet to see any gameplay videos with the e-amuse settings changed (and I'm likely not willing to pay to find out for myself). Unlocked songs in this game syncs with the songs you have unlocked in A20 PLUS (except for gold cab-exclusive songs).

From what I understand, you have to unlock songs in A20 PLUS in order to play them in Grand Prix.

Can someone help me figure out how the hell to pay for this? I don't know that I will keep it past the first month but I want to try this and I can't find the spot on the My KONAMI website to add my credit card at all.

You need a Japanese Konami ID to add a credit card to your account. If you have that, logging into my.konami.net will show a credit card information spot at the bottom of the menu (クレジットカード情報). For US IDs, this option is not present, for whatever reason (even though you can use US credit cards with Konami these days).

The trial version excludes most, but not all of the Challenge only songs. I was looking at the music list earlier (can't right now because maintenance just started), and My Summer Love (Tommy's Smile Mix) and Silent Hill (3rd Christmas Mix) were listed in the trial play section. Might have been some others, but I don't remember.

I made a japanese account and added my card but it won't let me use it. Any ideas why?

Edit: So I figured it out. I had to log out of my e-amusement account after deactivating my My KONAMI ID to make the Japanese one. Then when I logged back in again I had to set up everything as if it was new including getting a new virtual e-amusement card which wasn't a huge deal because there was nothing on the virtual card anyway except it saying I played the DDR PC beta so who cares right? But once I did that it let me use my card and now I can play.

Edit Edit: Wait the subscription only gets you the songs through SN2 plus Grand Prix? None of the 2013-A20 Plus stuff is included? I must have read the song list on the website wrong I guess. This is really disappointing. I really would have rather paid $60 for a full game than deal with this nonsense but I guess I’ll enjoy it for a month and go back to Stepmania.

Edit Edit Edit: The final game has the same sometimes it stutters sometimes it doesn't that the beta had. Glad to see that they resolved nothing. Also looking back at the song list I guess I just assumed that paying for this thing got me premium content but it looks like the premium modes are just behind ANOTHER pay wall. This game sucks out loud man. This is so disappointing. Please, no one spend money on this.

Wow, that pay structure just killed it for me! I’d pay a monthly subscription in a heart beat if it gave you everything. I’m not paying per session to have access to the recent music. Konami has done some crazy stuff but this is weird even for them.
