Went to the library today and picked up a copy of Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2008 to borrow. The game records they have are quite interesting, including the other facts that are given about the games.

You can view a preview at the Official Site

They also have a high score record list in the back of the book. If anyone wants to know a specific record or a set of records that a specific game has earned, just post it here and I'll see if it's in there.

EDIT: The high scores list in the back of the book is taken from Twin Galaxies and can be viewed at their web site: http://www.twingalaxies.com/

"I'm honestly pissed off."
Well, you know there's really only one thing in there we're interested in. What records does it list for DDR/ITG/IIDX/PIU?
silenttype01: Kyzentun is never harsh. He says it how it is.

GENERATION 24: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

I should have known XD lol

DDR records: first video game recognized as an official sport, most widely used video game in schools, most calories burned in a video game

There aren't any specific world records listed for ITG, PIU or beatmania. However, I did see ITG and beatmania on the score records list at twingalaxies.com

In terms of other BEMANI games, they did mention that GuitarFreaks "was the first game playable with a guitar controller." Also, beatmania, DDR, DDR Solo, IIDX, beatmania III, DrumMania, GF, ITG and StepMania are listed in the timeline for music games.

High Scores
Currently, there are no high score records for DDR SuperNOVA.
beatmania complex mix [sp]
DDR MAX2
DDR Extreme
DDR SuperNOVA
ITG
ITG 2
