3) What's the worst song in Bemani history?

Aaaaand, GO!

1) Do you know the man in my avatar? If so, please rate him on likeability, on a scale of 0 to 10.
2) Favourite BEMANI song from a relatively minor artist? (so no Naoki, TAG, U-1, etc)
3) If you could own any car in the world, what would you go with?

Everybody has a version of Bakamitai. *I* probably have a fucking version of Bakamitai by this point. Not having a version of Bakamitai is an indication that your character isn't returning in the next game.

3) What's the worst song in Bemani history?

1) A porridge-like food from my college orientation at a military camp where I saw cockroaches coming out from it. It tastes horrible, I can't opt out from it, and I'm internally sick from it.

2) Yes. One time I'm in the ad for a local airing of "Are You Smarter than a 5th grader?".

3) This is kinda tough question to answer as my music taste probably has been dulled that I like any song that isn't this piece of art . I'm not really a fan of early BEMANI stuff, but I don't think I can fault them. MANMACHINE PLAYS JAZZ and special energy sounds weird but I still like them for being quirky. Probably Inferno of Formalhaut could fit here as that was one of the more new music that I dislike so much.

1) Is that supposed to be Mishima? IDK I haven't started playing Persona 5 even until now so I can't say. Probably I'd have put 8 because of the appearance in the profile pic but I might regret putting it that high afterwards.

2) IDK how you would define minor artist here. Does Juggernaut. and Silentroom counts as minor artist? As their contribution is fairly low in BEMANI overall but currently is one of the top dogs in rhythm games. If that's the case, then "OUTERHEAVEN - Juggernaut.". Song is effin banger. If it isn't the case then "continew - Verdammt". Still bang, tho.

3) Eh I'm not really fancy into automotive that much so I could go with any car TBH as long it's comfortable to me. But if I had to pick, probably Porsche Cayenne.
Currently rebooting everything. If only I could change my username.

1. I once had some particularly rancid General Tso's chicken from an Asian fusion restaurant that had me pretty sick for the rest of the night. I'm sure there's worse I've had, but that's what's coming to mind.
2. Yes, actually! I was in an autism support group in my university, and ended up doing an interview for it that was aired on the school's sports TV network. For about a year after I did the shoot for it, I got people I knew from marching band messaging me saying "hey I saw you on TV at the football game!"
3. I don't know whether this is a hot take or not, but Mythomane. It's what people who don't like SOPHIE think SOPHIE sounds like. I say this mostly because of the tempo change and the song after it, but even if it were just the 180 BPM portion the whole way through, it'd just be forgettable.

1. I do not know this man. I somehow get the vibe he's from that Akatsuki Blitzkampf game though?? I give him a 7 just based on aesthetic.
2. 線香花火 (Senkou Hanabi, or Sparkler) by kamome sano. I remember being sad that this got removed from Sound Voltex, but if it meant getting this amazing self-remix of it a few years later, who am I to complain?
3. I'm not a big car person - most of my car knowledge comes from Forza games circa 2013. Given that... probably a Jaguar XK.

All riiiiight, here we goooo, let's do this thiiiiing~:

Quote: Oni-91
1) What's the single WORST thing you've ever eaten?
2) Have you ever been on TV/in a newspaper? What happen?
3) What's the worst song in Bemani history?

1. That's a tough one, as I feel most of the pickiness I had as a kid has waned quite a bit up until now. That said, in 6th grade we had a day where students could bring in attempts at international food for a project, and one classmate brought in this weird gooey seaweed-wrapped rice doohickey that was supposed to emulate something from Greece? It was a large cube-shaped thing, and I decided to just pop it all in at once. Cut to me sprinting to the restroom down the hall to throw it up...that's at least what comes to mind first when I think of bad foods. ...I'm not big into fruits either though, just in general. Mushy = bad to me, apparently.

2. Cool So. In my hometown there was this show made for our PBS station called The Friday Zone, which was like a local attempt at a kids show with science segments and town exploration and whatever else would keep kids attention. Not only was I in the theme song when it first started, as one of the dancing-in-front-of-green-screen kids they got for it, but I also got to do science stuff in an episode once. I made a compass. I talked real quiet and didn't at all want to watch myself afterwards. But the theme song moment was nice in retrospect.

ALSO. There was this show Oprah made called "Where Are They Now?" that featured Robby Benson, a relatively well-to-do actor who voiced Beast in that one Disney movie, which timed perfectly for when he was teaching a studio production class at my college...while I was taking the class! So I'm briefly in that episode too, for a couple quick clips. On Oprah's very own OWN! Wow! Who cares!

I've been in my local newspaper for school group related things occasionally, but nothing too crazy. Incidentally, both the theme song clip and that Robby Benson one exist online somewhere, if you can find them. Good luck with that.

3. Hmmm, that's tricky, because generally when there's a song I don't like, I hear it the one time then proceed to forget all about it. This applies to most Sound Holic songs, as well as a handful of Akhuta's fare, which I find to be a very much acquired taste. Overall though..."AFTER THE GAME OF LOVE"? What the heck happened there? That song frustrates the crap outta me. Especially growing up with DDR EXTREME (AC), I'd always wonder how that made it into the list with everything else there. I can only imagine what it'd be like if noobs kept playing that every time instead of We Will Rock You on infinite repeat...good grief.

1. Wha--hey, that is Mishima, isn't it? I cross-checked the image to be sure...wow, what a creepy portrayal of him. I thought for the most part his character made sense though, his heart's in the right place for it anyway. And who doesn't love a competent web/app designer? I'll give him a solid 7, assuming that's closer to likable than not. Gotta say though, I'll always stand by my boy Iwai first and foremost.

2. I am curious how minor of minor we're talking here, so I'll try and go for ones that really only have a couple songs max contributed to any game so far, or only started showed up recently. Some current standouts there for me include Pixelated Platform // pan and Cloud 9 // Yunosuke from Sound Voltex, as well as The Chameleon // T-Hey from pop'n music.

3. Oh man, one that works and can play my old man iPod somehow! I would bet I'm the least knowledgeable person in this list about cars unfortunately, and I get makes and models mixed up all the dang time. So literally one that doesn't look too beat up and can get me from point A to point B would be swell. (...Although it might be cool if it was red, whatever it was. I've never had a red car, always thought they were rather striking.)

Ah, new contender snuck in while I was typing!

3} (Recycled from last week) What's your favorite non-Bemani rhythm game?

1. ..........Museca. Easily. I would almost call Museca my answer to question number two, based on how quickly I grasped the difficulty curve of it, and there were very few misses in the songlist for me, so I was very sad when they stopped making Museca a thing. I miss my Grafica collection so much. I mean, look at these guys:

https://eacache.s.konaminet.jp/game/museca/msc_1half/common/images/cmn/grafica/0001/I1biP9DoDOddQ608l660l6P66b6q8QID/gf_c.pnghttps://eacache.s.konaminet.jp/game/museca/msc_1half/common/images/cmn/grafica/0001/qqIPPq1do9o0o1PD16O1dD1PD11dDOo6/gf_c.pnghttps://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/museca/images/0/05/Gf-pure-whitemochimochi-wiki.png/revision/latest?cb=20161020040014

How could I not miss them? #NeverForget

2. Anywho, I guess what qualifies for this answer now would be DDR, technically. While my limit is lower 16s on actual machines, the fact I can pass much higher with a keyboard at least means I'm on the right track. I've actually got a pretty good handle on jubeat too, for the times I've been able to try it. Beatmania IIDX and Sound Voltex would be close behind, but I haven't been able to practice them in forever where I live now, so I'm sure I'm a bit rustier with 'em. Gosh, pop'n music is surprisingly hard for me though! Maybe the buttons are too big and spread out?

3. I really like Cytus II. The story alone is something I would never expected to find in a rhythm game of all things, but the massive songlist always keeps me going back to play my favorites. Although...surely the Rhythm Tengoku series counts as well? Because that will always have a special place in my heart too. Flock Step is my jam, y'know!

More questions go

1) MUSECA. I really love playing MUSECA. Even when there's a location test of SDVX and MUSECA here years ago I played MUSECA more than SDVX. But Konami really canned it down.

2) I'm not so sure though, as I believe I'm just average at rhythm games. Maybe DDR as I'm currently playing on 16/17-footer. But in SDVX I'm playing at Lv17/18 stuff where the game also features 20 scale. Yea I think those two are the ones that I'm proud of.

3) There's so many rhythm games that I play and I really adore I lost count of them. But there's a few that I'm currently playing religiously. Pump It Up has been my favorite long enough since most arcades here featured it more instead of DDR. The game didn't have much strict timing but the stamina aspect really makes up for it. I also picked up Arcaea for quite some time that I found myself playing it a lot. It has numerous good musics that I enjoy so much. Phigros is the latest game I picked up and I effin adore the gameplay. It really felt like Deemo & Dynamix, but the lane and the notes is drunk. The musics are also good. Cytus II also up on my list for having huge selection of music. Lanota also in my list as the circular deemo gameplay is really effective to me.

I think those are the ones that leaves their mark the biggest to me. I can also name TAPSONICs, RAVON, Dynamix, etc. but those didn't quite get me signed up. I still play them though. I also didn't really count StepMania/Etterna, osu!, and BMS players (LR2, beatoraja, etc.) as those are more like a rhythm game simulator instead of an actual rhythm game.

1. Carbonara. Tastes like evil.

2. Was in a newspaper when I was young. Having a family walk in the park and a local newspaper photographer chose us to photograph as a stock "family walking in the park". Nothing else special.

3. I don't even know. I enjoy all the stereotypically "bad" songs. I'll just say LET THEM MOVe.

1. No. I don't think he'd be likeable, anyway, just by looking.

2. How minor? If I had to go for something really minor, I'd say... Session 12 -Esther-.

3. I don't know. Something that feels nice and smooth to drive.

1. [blows a kiss to the sky for Museca]
2. jubeat. I'm not great at scoring in it (I have yet to get an SSS on any song, let alone an EXC) but in terms of clearing stuff I'm definitely further along comparatively in it than DDR.
3. Crossbeats! It has some of my favorite rhythm game songs of all times, and the gameplay is fun and intuitive. God, I miss it so much... In terms of games that are still going, it's a toss-up between Arcaea and maimai.

1. Hmm, that's a tough question - I really can't think of a year I've had that was consistently all good. My best was... I guess 2019? January was pretty bad and it got gradually worse going into April, but after that I had a pretty good year.
2. IF I COULD BUY FOREVER AT A PRICE, I WOULD BUY IT TWIIIIICE
3. My original DS. I don't know if it was just from me playing the hell out of it or if something else happened to help break it, but the hinge somehow completely broke and tore the two screens of it apart. Fortunately by that point, the DS Lite was out.

1) Honestly IDK. Every year kinda feels same-y to me. If I have to choose one, probably 2019. It was a really good year in terms of my academic, financial, and relationships.

2) Obviously the best song for karaoke ever

3) Honestly I'm not too sure as in most cases it was my sister who broke my expensive stuffs (Like computers and consoles). I think the most expensive thing I broke was my Sony MDR-ZX310 headphone.

1. Er, probably somewhere around 2012 or 2013. That was midway through my college years, which was mostly a fun breeze for me, and I was probably doing all right enough socially that I felt like my best self. Everything was so much simpler back then. I miss that.

2. Huh, I don't know if I've ever actually done karaoke before! It always looked fun, with the right crowd. If possible, perhaps something by the Monkees? Maybe Pleasant Valley Sunday?

3. Oh man, that entire question stresses the heck outta me. I've been in car accidents that weren't my fault, but I don't know if I've ever had any sort of dire situation beyond that. I am very careful with things, so as not to add anything to the long list of ruminations that stew in my head already. Oops
