Hi! I'm a bit new to making simfiles, but I'd though I'd give it a try with "Dance like you want to win" from Neon Genesis. which I think works well as a dance song, and is a bit different than typical dance songs.
I ran through it on 1/2 speed a few times, and the timing looks right, but if you spot any misplaced steps, please let me know. Also, I only made a guess at the difficulties, let me know if they are wrong.
I tried to mix it up a bit, but I don't know if the steps are too repetative, maybe I need to mix up the middle section more. Let me know if that's the case. Thanks!
no background, because I haven't figured out what it should be yet.
I used DDream Studio to make the simfile
"Dance like you both want to win" -Shirō Sagisu
Easy 1 / Medium 5 / Hard 8
(Removed while I work on it)
Did anyone try this out? No one can give any feedback?

here we go
- oh no, honey oh no
- file is completely offsync, bpm value should be at least 88
- patterns are really dull and also completely offsync
CONCLUSION: read below
BEGINNER'S GUIDE FOR STEPPING
use arrowvortex, it has a lot of neat features such as a more or less accurate bpm/offset checker
read these
basics
how to sync (for both the basics and sync guides, replace any instance of mixmeister with arrowvortex, the latter is more accurate but still not 100%)
how to graphics
patterns
one | two | three | four (marking footswitches/intentional doublesteps with mines is heavily recommended)
APPEND: and lastly
these step artists are good, observe and learn (there's many more of them.)

Thanks! This looks like good info. Like I said, this was my first song, so I don't know what I'm really doing.
Though one of the links looks like it's dead ("how to sync")
E:
So in just a few minutes thanks to ArrowVortex, I think I improved this a lot, at least in terms of timing syncing. (It still needs a lot of work though. the steps are just placeholders while I figure out the correct timing for the steps, then I'll figure out the actual pattern)

The notes aren't all different colors, and they looked synced to the yellow wave form hits. I also raised the BPM up using the recomended BPM tool.
If I understand the guides right, I want to make the steps on a single snap mode (for this one I'm on 24ths), right?
