Good evening, Bemani fans.
While going through every normal and executive club in UNIVERSE3's Quest Mode and jotting down the details of how each avatar looks, I realize that I still have some work to do before I unlock the rest of the costumes for my avatar. Long story short, I don't have the specific costume variations for Mary and Rick as yet, so I can't recreate said avatars at the moment.
Has anyone tried to beat the challenges for the clubs? If so, then do you have any tips on completing them? If not, then I understand since it's been stated on RemyWiki that some achievements are impossible to obtain (i.e. unlocking all costumes).
Thank you, and have a good night.

It's been a long time since I played Universe 3 due to me no longer owning an Xbox 360, but I can tell you that the reason the "unlock all costumes" achievement is impossible is due to one challenge in particular - the Club mission that asks for all Goods on a trill in Streamline . The timing windows for the notes overlap in a way that makes doing it impossible without cheats.

Not even if you were to adjust the timing to make it so you receive nothing but Goods while timing the notes perfectly?Post #4 · Posted at 2020-06-25 09:30:39am 3.8 years ago

Late i can understand if there's two overlapping notes though.

I feel like I remember the timing windows in Uni3 being relatively large, though I could be misremembering. Add to that the fact that it's asking for this on a 16th note trill at 175 BPM and you get a mission that's impossible even with sync adjustments.

Even with timing adjustments, it's physically impossible to complete the mission without cheating in some capacity
It is impossible to get 100% in Quest Mode, and therefore all of the achievements
Cheating to get them effectively bricks your Xbox profile going forward
It is impossible to get 100% in Quest Mode, and therefore all of the achievements

I'm hearing that but nobodys explaining why it's not possible to complete the mission? I'm assuming the timing window is bugged in some way but short of not being able to get goods early I can't imagine a reason it wouldn't work?

It's not that is imposible in the realm of probability, but that is likely to be 99.9% imposible to do. You can try, and it could possible, but that would mean to dedicate take A LOT of inhuman time and patience. As for why it wouldn't work, you have to consider both the timing window and the overlapping bug, then the lag of the TV and controller (making it more difficult to be precise hitting the note in Good). You have to step it at a perfect frame of Good evaluation consistently. In fighting games, there are combos that require frame perfect execution, and you can see that even pro players doesn't always get it. So that is why it means to be humanly impossible to complete. Again, there is that 0.01% chance that you could achieve it, but probability speaking, it would be your are the exception.

A lot of people say that the mission is completely impossible. However, in theory, it should be possible. IIRC, it's a left-right sixteenth stream on Streamline, so the timing windows of the arrows are extremely close. If you want to get a good on a certain arrow, you'll just get a perfect/marvelous on the previous one, or a perfect/marvelous on the next one.
The reason I say it should be possible is that even though the timing windows don't seem to technically overlap, this seems to differ for each time you play the mission. Some people have used devices like the CronusMax to simulate button inputs, and although they haven't been able to get the achievement, they've gotten damn close. The problem with devices like these is that they aren't always frame-perfect and usually have an extremely slight delay, but on a mission as finnicky as this one, that delay will be paramount.
So is it possible? If people are able to get 8/9 of the goods, they should be able to get the ninth. The other issue comes into play with how DDR Universe 3 actually works. I wonder if the game just sorta craps out.

Still doesn’t make sense because if you hit the first arrow early with a good what stops you from then riding that timing window for the rest of the mission? It’s how I’ve always done get 0 points missions on other games. I wouldn’t mind knowing specifically what the issue is, I’d just try it myself but it never came out in England. My only potential theory without playing it is maybe the timing windows are set up in such a way that an early good on one arrow also overlaps with a boo on the next arrow and if the mission is all goods that’d be enough to stop you but again, I feel like I’m missing one tiny thing here ?

The most damning evidence pointing towards it geniunely being 100% impossible is the fact that if you have the achievement, I'm pretty sure you get banned from Xbox Live. No way would that happen if it was legitimately attainable.

I think I can see the problem with the timing windows overlapping, I hit the arrow at what would be good or great and I got was a perfect.

Well i'm happy to believe it's impossible i'm just still curious what the actual specific problem is as it sounds more like an engine issue rather than overlapping timing windows, like how that one arcade DDR mix had a single frame great window hidden between perfect and marvelous briefly around 2013 i believe!
At least it lived on with the reputation of the first two universe games (and some of the xbox ones) for just being utterly brutal with it's challenges anyway even if this particular one is impossible!
