Okay, so I need to get a new dance pad. I've had an OmegaGX pad for the past three years. It degraded after a year, attempts to fix it have failed, and now my wire is broken.
Has anyone actually looked at DDR Game pads? I know I've seen the Champion pad get panned. They're really a last resort, but I just want to know if anyone has had any experience with their Energy, Ion, or Hyperkin Super Deluxe pads.
I really don't want to sink a couple grand into a StepManiax pad (assuming they ever go on sale again), and I have no idea when the Impuse platform is coming available. But are there any other options outside of building my own? (I have access to instructions if it comes down to that, don't need those.)
Another manufacturer I'm looking at is Positive Gaming. Anyone have experience with their Impact Dance Pads?

I've heard good things about L-TEK in Poland. No experience with them myself, but that's another way to go. I think their "pro" pad is like 200 euros.

Seconding L-Tek Pads based on what I've heard from friends that have bought one. It seems like most will recommend that or an SMX now for a decent home pad.
They're about (iirc) $300-350 per pad after shipping to the US. There is an option to get it with a bar, but that option pushes it to $600+ and the bar itself isn't that sturdy.

I have a bar setup (bought the bar from Precision, built the base for it, it works out well), so all I need is a pad to go on it.
So an update:
I got the L-Tek pad right before Christmas, as well as their bar. Wish I didn't get the bar, it doesn't feel as sturdy as the Precision bar setup I had. But it's been working well for the past three months, and I think it was a good investment.
