scroll down to "With background animation"
I downloaded several of these "with background animation" packs (STRIKE, SuperNova2, both DDRE2 packs) and put them in game & song folders according to .readme instructions. All my other song packs downloaded work perfectly from the simfile section of this site. I noticed that they are different file types from the ones I have that I got to work. Is there a way to make these work on Stepmania 5? Thanks for your help, and sorry for being a n00b.

Usually, the files containing unique BGAs don't contain music files to go along with them, which results in the song not being able to be played. I recommend you get the simfiles not from the BGA packs, then copy/paste the video itself into the song's folder. I also recommend you adjust the start position of the video so that it'll fit better, and add StretchNoLoop so that the video doesn't loop continuously.

Just a tip for you, I'am newbie in this cumunity too, some of these BG comes when you download the entire song pack, for a most imersive experience download the "beware's Background Videos Pack" at the button of this page, includes all random movies that you need and drop on random movies folder of your stepmania, after that search for a tropic here called: "Custom BG" created by Dark Feline, in every song SM/SSC script's just paste-copy the script, have fun with them.
