You are our finalists! There's only one round to go, so you'll really need to make it count. To everyone else, thank you so much for participating, there were so many killer files here but that means the competition is that much harder. I'll definitely want to see you all next time, and I encourage everyone to stick around to vote in the final round to show your support. Alright, without any further delay, our 8 finalists can now submit for Week 6.
Also as more of a personal note, thank you to everyone who voted for my file, I certainly went out of my comfort zone to try some new ideas, and this is the first time I've taken 1st in a round after however many tournaments I've entered over the years so it means a lot.
*edit* also as another side note, I can see when people are looking at the spreadsheet before I post it here. I know it's like sneaking downstairs to see the Christmas presents but in case I somehow mess something up before posting it here I would say don't do it, but eh I can't really stop you I guess lol

Didn't expect it to make this far and I submitted my Week 5 entry thinking there was one more week of file submissions before the second cutoff lol.
Best of luck to everyone in the final round!

Feels great to get this far. But if I can't even win one week I don't feel confident that I can win the contest...
Tough luck to Kex (and Marten); I was rooting for them to make it through and it came down to a matter of a few points. I think Summer Contest is gonna be really fun with them involved and all the new faces I see here!

I feel like it was a good run nonetheless. At the very least, I did get first overall in Phase 1, which I am proud of. Best of luck to everyone in this last round!

Honestly didn't see this coming. Thought I was a goner for sure. Good luck, all of you. I don't think I have another Glitch Nerds in me like I did in 2017...but we will see.

"Thank you for releasing me!" |
Considering I hadn't released any files in over 3 years before this I'd say I did alright. It was fun to come back to this, and I'm thinking I'll stick around this time... maybe... no promises.

I... don't really understand how I placed so low. Anyway, it was a good run and good luck to the finalists!
Also, I recorded my thoughts for this week, playing the Expert & Challenge charts on mMod. DM if you have any questions!

Boxel Adventure
-Very good patterning in both charts, I loved the variety you used in the patterning and excellent use of crossovers in the 18
-I didn’t feel like the slowdowns fit, but that’s my only criticism
-Graphics could’ve been better, but not bad at all
-Very very good charts
But I Go Back
-The 13 feels like a 14
-Good patterning in the 13 and 15
-More rhythms could have been used near the end
-Cute graphics
-Good charts overall!
D.E.A.L. Breaker Intro (Extended)
-Sync is early
-Song drags on with the long cut
-Highest display bpm which only lasts a few measures, it would’ve been better if it were set at 100
-Really easy for a 15 except for the steam near the end, which didn’t really fit the song well.
-Not a fan of the graphics
Future Cider
-Sync slightly late? Not very noticeable in play though
-Good patterning, but some of the rhythms weren’t utilized like they could’ve been
-Graphics lack anti-aliasing and look choppy, but they’re cute
Hasta La Vista
-Good patterning, very well done with the rhythms
-Good graphics
Jumpin’, Jumpin’
-Cute patterning and rhythms, charting the steps with the lyrics of the song is always a nice touch
-No graphics
Knight Rider
-Sync might be slightly early
-18 felt more like a 17
-Good patterns on both the 16 and 18, and I liked the contrast between how you used the rhythms on each
-No graphics other than the jacket, which is choppy and lacks anti-aliasing
-Audio sounds quiet and low quality
Language
-Large difficulty spike near the beginning while the rest of the chart is fairly easy, not much you can do with the rhythms though
-BPM gimmicks seemed odd and didn’t really fit well
-Nice graphics
Miss You (EmoCosine Remix)
-Good patterning, but some odd choices in some of the rhythms
-This song is hot, hello, I’m here for this
Party of the Year
-Cute song, with good rhythms patterning
-Why does this have a .dwi file, it’s 2020
-Small banner graphic, but well made regardless
PhonDrome!
-Very unique chart with really fun patterns and rhythm implementation
-Graphics could use some polish to make it look nice
Quiver
-Nothing stops out to me about these charts, way too easy for an 11 and a 13 though
-Rushed-looking graphics
REALLY REALLY
-Both charts should be bumped up in their difficulty rating, seemed a bit hard for why they were rated
-Good patterning and rhythms in both charts though!
-Graphics look rushed
Square Missile
-Good flow and rhythms
-Chart seems too easy for a 16, felt more like a 15 to me
-Patterning error at m8
U.S.A.
-Drills are way too difficult to be in a 13
-Otherwise good patterning and rhythms in both charts

Just rock it!
Are you ready?
I've been saving this one for the right moment, and what better moment than right now?

Both TOI 7 finalists out before the final round? What has this world come to?
Welp, good luck to the remaining competitors. Hard to believe that competition is so fierce that even this is not good enough for top half.

I made a few pattern fixes to ANCHOR. If you've downloaded it between now and then, please re-download the file.

Had a feeling I'd be knocked out after this round, but it was really fun to make files for this nonetheless. Perhaps I'll be back another time.
