Stepmania 5.0.12 Character Select

Good evening, fellow rhythm game fans. I have a lot of characters installed on Stepmania with no problems, and I want to be able to select a character without having to resort to the Default to Random option. However, even with the Select option activated, the option to choose your character in the song options menu doesn't show up. If anyone has a solution to this, can you explain what I need to do? Please and thank you in advance.

You need to add a choice in player options metrics for example 12 and below add this line

Line12="list,Characters"

You could change the 12 to whatever you like, save and reload metrics or restart sm

UPDATE: Okay, I've tried adding Line12="list,Characters" to the PlayerOptions metrics, but to no avail since there's still no character select option showing up in the song options menu. And yes, I've double checked and made sure the options to select your character and have the extra song options menu show up were turned on. This is crazy, because I remember being able to choose my character when I first had Stepmania 5 on my previous PC without having to add anything to the metrics file.

Dont worry, just do the following:

1. Go to the theme floder and open metrics.ini

2. Search for [ScreenPlayerOptions] and search below it for LineNames

3. In the comma separated values of that line add a comma and the 12

4. Below you can find the line options just add the line
Line12="list,Characters"

You will end with a code similar to this one



And if everything is ok you should see the character line in your song options

Okay, I found the Screen Player Options, and it looks like this. It seems as if the Characters option is already there, yet I still can't see it whenever I go to the player options menu before playing a song. Any help, please?

You already have it in your theme, if you check is the number 17, do you have all the required files and bones for the characters?

Yes, I’ve made sure that I have all the required files and bones for the characters I installed, courtesy of stepmaniathings.com. I even tested out the Default to Random option, and my characters work fine and dandy.

What theme are you trying to do this with? Can you link to a download for the exact version you are using?
