Is the game worth getting after playing so much of DJMax? I know it had a rough start and all but im not familiar with ANY of the songs on here since i grew up with DJMax. I heard a few and i i had mixed feelings of some of the songs on the list.

Yeah

Much of the soundtrack is more akin to the songs from earlier DJMAX, but there is some newer content too (especially the EZ2AC crossovers, BMS licenses and other songs you might know *cough brain power cough*, and some of the later ez2on songs). A few songs are actually by artists also in DJMAX, and there are even some that have connections to songs that later appeared in DJMAX (Envy Mask is actually part of the later NB Rangers saga of songs)

Also the Time Traveler DLC released (interface skin, 11 songs, gameplay gear and matching noteskin), and we actually have some song removals too (both by the same artist, though)

The release notes state that there will be four more songs added to the TT DLC by May 2022, and three more base songs by the end of 2022 to offset the removals

I finally got the game after holding out for so long (got both the base game and the Time Traveler DLC)!

So, as someone who's very used to DJMAX Respect V, it's definitely a more barebones game (as in there's no mission mode or any kind of unlocks), but at the same time, it does a few things that I wish the other game had! In particular, every song that I've played so far is keysounded (and they're not keysounded in the way where when a song is finished, the keys are silent, if that makes any sense!), has a proper Early/Late counter (which I know was removed from the PS4 version because it was patented by Konami, so I'm curious to why it's in this game? Hmm... ), and they've even recently added some fun, but not entirely necessary, sound mods a la the Effect sliders from IIDX. I also respect that they're actively updating already existing songs and improving them {usually, it's "remastering" BGAs}.

As of right now, while it's still Early Access, I wouldn't entirely recommend this game for casual players until the full game is released, because there's still a teensy little bit of polish that must be done. Otherwise, it's definitely a must-play for DJMAX players, if only to see where a lot of the musicians originally came from, and it's a lot more convenient to play these songs versus when EZ2ON first came out back in 2007(ish?).

Oh, and big piece of advice for those who start up the game for the first time: If the game starts up in Korean, go to Options, and scroll down to the very last option; that is where you can change the language to English.




They added a course mode that's pretty decent! It's not quite like Respect's Mission mode, but there are some unique songs that aren't in the Basic/Normal mode (the nonstop megamix songs specifically).

This sounds way better than whatever max428 was. Never expected to ever see Naoki in EZ2ON much less a Max song of all things.

Not just Naoki, but A LOT of the old guard Bemani composers are coming to ez2on, as well, as upcoming DLC. What timeline are we living in?! XD

02Jam collaboration DLC pack (and an additional song for Time Traveller) coming in May, And another collaboration DLC coming later in the year.

A lot of the stuff they're talking about in the stream is in Korean, but from what I can see from skimming through it, they're also adding 2 new songs to the base game as a "welcome back" pack, redesigning the UI, adding in achievements, more courses, and a "Ruby series".

And they're adding Geforce Experience support, with Nvidia Reflex.

There's also some DLC coming called "WIth Codename: Violet", and "Prestige Pass"

(Really excited for Prestige Pass; sounds like it's nonstop bangers. 8I )

Holy CRAP. What?! I picked a great time to finally get into EZ2ON. I grabbed it 2 months ago and have always been into DJMAX, DDR, IIDX, PIU, etc...so this is incredible to see some of these artists coming to it. I have SMX and it was cool to see MAX428 but...sorry, kYlE wArD. MAX301 sounds soooo much better from that snippet we got to hear so it seems EZ2ON snagged the more authentic sounding sequel to MAX300.

Edit: I hope they get some 3rd Coast one of these days. I don't even know if 3rd Coast still makes music They were always my favorite DJMAX group.
