There are a zillion different threads on this website about songs that were supposed to be in BEMANI games that ended up getting left off of the final product. However, what sets this thread apart is that it asks the one question that (surprisingly) no one has ever asked: Would the games really be better if the scrapped songs had made it into the game?

I'll start with my opinion on a song that was planned to appear in DDR Hottest Party 3: "Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)" by The Prodigy. Now that it's been out for ten years, I think that HP3 is actually better off without that song. Sure, the game has Fatboy Slim, Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem and Danny Tenaglia. If the game only had that brand of electronic music, then the song would be a perfectly fine addition. However, it also contains Earth, Wind and Fire, Rick Astley, Rihanna and Juanes. "Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)" doesn't really mesh well with those artists. And then you have all of the Konami Originals. Hottest Party 3 has quite possibly the most sonically diverse set of Konami Originals in the entire DDR franchise. While it would fit in with the likes of Pluto The First, You are a Star, A Brighter Day and Sacred Oath, I don't think the song would fit with songs such as Love Again, What Will Come of Me, Taking It To The Sky and Heatstroke.

What opinions do you have? And what do you think of my opinion above?
