Unfortunately, there is a lot that has gone on behind the scenes that most people aren't aware of. I don't blame you for seeing it that way.

I'd also like to point out that we don't just get questions here, but team members have been DMed on multiple platforms and our Discord server has had messages time and time again asking for official implementation and when we say it's not in our best interest at the moment, people have insulted and berated us over the decision. Someone claimed "we are all stuck up our asses" for not wanting to add the DancingCharacters system when STARLiGHT TWOpointZERO was being released, and I have the proof to back it up. This is part of the reason why Inori has decided to take a bit of a hiatus from theming very soon, as it's gotten to the point where it's stressing him out severely.

I apologize that this situation has gotten to the level that it has. We try to keep our image professional wherever possible and lately we've just been cracking under pressure. No further discussion regarding this matter should continue from this point. As Inori stated, the way we will handle this from now on is simply ignoring the requests.

Okay but none of that was in this thread and you’re taking your frustrations from discord out on people here who didn’t do that. The questions of about Encisso’s project popped up in the starlight thread after his thread was deleted. Before that they were posted there. I don’t get the anger. Before when someone asked about a feature you didn’t care to implement you just didn’t bother responding to their posts at all. I know because I asked about a few features and didn’t get any response at all, no one even dignified my questions with a “no”. Suddenly now you guys want to yell at people. Just go back to ignoring questions about stuff you don’t want to implement.

If you had read the last sentence of the second paragraph you'd see why we're upset. It's causing some of our team members a great amount of stress. I also do remember informing some of you that you'd have to go to Enciso or Curilang for questions regarding the patch and you all were very understanding, so I thank those individuals for their cooperation. The reason we're stating this on this thread and pretty much every platform we are on is so that it doesn't happen anymore, simple as that.

I also just stated that ignoring questions was what we were going to do moving forward, so expect that to be the case. As for ignoring any genuine requests you had in the past, it was most likely because they were features we were working on already and had been requested in our Discord. I apologize that you didn't receive any responses on your feature requests and I'll be sure that we do a better job of responding. Thanks.

You do realize I'm a single person right. I have a job to go to, I have bugs to fix, I have other projects I'm a part of. I'm not going to see every single request made especially if they're made on a forum that I don't even go on for weeks at a time.

And the reason we're "yelling" is because we've had to re-iterate things multiple times because people don't want to listen.

I think it's more so the delivery, bold text, red text, the use of the word "support" 10 times. You could have just said
"If you have any issues with the dancers+stages, please PM Enciso as they're an entirely different project"

You are, in fact, a single person. Midflight digital, however, is a team and the evidence is all the people in here pissed off saying “we” are tired of this. Hell, you literally used “we” in the last sentence of that post. Twice.

It seems like anymore unless people want to fight no one fucking posts here anymore. It’s stupid. For a bunch of people who supposedly love rhythm games none of you want to discuss it. No one wants to help people who ask questions. It’s just fighting.

Well, personally I would ignore those people if they already have an answer, or wait for them to PM you privately and make them acknowledge that you've already explained. Or y'no, you could go to ZIv and type up a somewhat hostile sounding message where you say you don't support someones project that you've put a lot of love + effort into.

I didn't want to do this, but I think it's best I step in and say this:

I understand the frustration that Midflight Digital has to deal with for repeatedly telling unaware users that Encisco's DDR background dancer project has no affiliation with DDR XX or STARLiGHT. However, when there's shade being thrown around on different sides, it tends to create arguments such as the one unfolding right now. I am affiliated with Midflight Digital, but I need to step back and take a neutral position.

Please, I urge you folks to take the time and defend your situation and talk things out among others. If anyone else has any legitimate concerns or critiques that they want to discuss with Midflight Digital, please do so in a private chat/conversation in a civilized manner. Failure to do so will result in this thread being temporarily locked until further notice. Inorizushi's last lengthy post does provide the best contribution to all this so far, so do discuss whatever disagreements you may have to that stance.

I'd like to take a second and restate that we are mostly active on our Discord server. This is where we engage with the community directly, provide updates on content and future plans, receive feedback, and provide support. It has been that way for the past two years now. We also have general discussion about rhythm games and pretty much anything else. The forum threads have mainly been used to provide major update notifications and that's pretty much it. If you enjoy DDR XX -STARLiGHT-, I urge you to join!

Edit: And if so, why is it still not compatible with the latest version of Stepmania?

If you scroll down on the page it says click the "Releases" link to find the latest release.

This theme was made for Project OutFox as it takes advantage of functionality it has in comparison to StepMania. It should work on the latest version of StepMania but there may be some unintended behavior.

just made the DancerVideos work but currently having an issue with the SNCharacters where the combo pics aren't popping up during songs. can someone tell me what settings are stopping it?

I believe you can toggle the combo pics on and off in the customization menu on the theme.

if you're referring to "Combo Cut-Ins," it's definitely enabled but still nothing during 100 combos besides the announcer callout. unless the cut-ins are considered toasties, haven't changed anything in the individual SNCharacters folders either so no idea what is the issue.
