With the Nintendo Switch's growing popularity and portability, i think that it's finally time for BEMANI to return to consoles via the Switch. What do you guys think?

i mostly doubt that happening
iirc the sn/sn2/x cs games didn't sell well, even in japan
and if switch bemani really were to happen, i doubt it would be any different

Honestly? If they aren't bringing the Ultimate Mobile games to Switch, then I don't see them bringing any Bemani games to Switch. I could see Sound Voltex or DDR working out (assuming it's docked for DDR), but I feel like at this point it's a little too late for that.

Not worth their time. If you’re seeing the tend with Infinitas and SDVX III cloud, they want service based games. Games you never own. This is why *unmentionables* are the next best thing.

No. I agree with everyone here. With "other means" to play them and Konami not investing in the console market anymore with Rhythm games, it's dead in the water, never happening.

While I would LOVE a true console return of DDR I just don’t see it happening at this point. As it is it’s been quite some time since we have heard anything about Ultimate Mobile. The last few iterations of DDR sold horribly and music games as a whole have been on decline for awhile. I love to be pleasantly surprised but I really think it’s a pipe dream.

Plus I know Konami would charge players at home using the switch online service integration with eamuse cloud and I absolutely refuse to buy into it. I hate pay to play at home, and Konami will never go back to the old ways of unlocking content. This is why i refuse to support Infinitas and SDVX on PC. I shouldn't have to pay what I pay for an eamuse basic course at home now. Screw that.

Honestly a Hottest Party-type game on Switch could probably be fun: they could theoretically support the old GameCube-era pads via the official USB hub. But we all know that's never gonna happen.
And neither is an unexpected port of Beatstream.

I thought music games have had a slight return recently at least on mobile devices, though most of them are gacha based (Love Live!, Bandori and Uta no Prince Sama)Post #12 · Posted at 2019-06-01 11:01:35am 4.8 years ago

They could always just come up with a new music game series dedicated for the Switch, with crossovers from various BEMANI series along with original content. But sadly, I don’t have one ounce of faith in that happening.

I would like that idea, but still doubt it because it would be complicated. I would like to see Groove Coaster being ported to Switch.

I'm still waiting on Ultimate Mobile Bemani. I don't see console happening at all.

I still think a REFLEC BEAT port could've worked well but it's dead... though jubeat could work too. I just don't know what's the finger limit of the Switch's touchscreen (might be 5 though)

Yeah, but sadly, Reflec Beat is inactive anymore.

If done right any BEMANI series could stand a chance. I think it’s a pipes dream at this point though. If Ultimate Mobile does well then I could see them entertaining the idea of another console game but it would have to do really well...this is Konami we are talking about.

Nor with Hottest Party, There are a lot of songs which DDR should add for console, starting since DDR X3.
And i agree with others, rhythm games like DDR, popn music or beatmania had their popularity moments in the past but nowadays not.
The unique games which are still surviving in consoles are Taiko no Tatsujin and Just Dance.

I think Taiko for Switch is as close as we're gonna get, lads.
