It's been like ten years since I've played Stepmania, but I wanted to lost some weight so I set everything up again and it's been great! Already back in shape and getting close to my old scores. Also loving just how many simfiles there are now. Though it can be overwhelming and hard to dig through everything. I'm really out of the loop and was hoping some experienced simfile collectors could help get me up to speed.
I found Ben Speirs' huge pack and it's amazing. Over 200 hits with high res video and really well done steps. Wow! So perfect for showing Stepmania to new people. Any other packs as great as that?
I've found some good packs on this site, but not all of them seem available to download? Like this one:

I'd also personally recommend simfiles from Pandemonium X, DMAxel, and t7r, specifically their newer stuff (respectively, the PandemiXium series, THE FINAL IMPACT and THE FINAL IMPACT append, and the XQ series).

I'd recommend songs from Dancemania, other Bemani Games, and songs from the past.
The DDR4EVER series are awesome. You can download them here. There's even some songs from Dancemania!
