Anyway, I'm replaying SN Stellar Mode and I get to Stellar World Nitro. The first thing I try to do is beat Mission 8: Get full combo with GUS. only; No mods

Not only is getting Gus a hassle but for some reason in SN, he is a combo-breaker for me. For example, I finally found a song that I can full-combo without mods. No.13/ Taka Respect for J.S.B.

I've gotten 5 FC's in a row with other characters. Then Gus gets on the stage. The first time I broke it in the beginning. The second time he was on stage I broke it near the end.

Why Gus, why?

People with the ability to levitate at will should not mock us mere mortals by making ddr videos.
I swear, if I were to meet him in person, and I saw him just floating along, a foot above the ground, not touching it at all, I wouldn't be surprised.

I mean, I can't even achieve scores like that on those songs on singles when I put it on half speed. Can't do them at all on full speed.

He does that badass kick at the stop and he plays bass-ackwards afterwards.

There was a comment saying that he always walks on his tip-toes and his calves are huge.

Did you not notice the stealth + dark on that vid? The bass-ackwards just makes it so he can cross-step that section and maintain a steady pulse. (saw that in one of the older comments)

It was heartening though to see him tip forward somewhat at the end of the FELM vid though. Maybe he is mortal... and thus maybe we have a chance to aspire to similar skill...

Playing backwards is still jaw-dropping though. He also completely missed some arrows in FAXX Expert Doubles but that song isn't meant to be played by humans.

His tipping forward doesn't mean anything.

That 1 miss compared to his 500 Marvelous, 583 combo and 983,000 score is insignificant.

There is something very odd though.

According to my FELM FDE, FELM Expert Doubles has 584 steps. Did he miss the first step? The last steps are freeze arrows. o_O

If you look very closely at the end, you can see that on the final stop, the left (P1 R) freeze is dark, not lit. That's his one miss.

But aren't jumps counted as one, so if you miss one arrow you miss the whole thing?

But Kobayan sure is Godly. I wish there were more videos of him playing, it sure is a unique style, and very eye catching

I can face backwards when I'm looking at a print-out or a video of a stepchart, but when I'm actually playing, I'm afraid to do it. I end up double-stepping crazily (and of course, I get a frikkin' B or lower).

FAXX? You mean play Fascination MAXX in Challenge difficulty and succeed?

I think it sounds impossible since almost DDR gamer i meet and watch actually play Afronova in Basic too much ( Boring). And They won't try hard songs like Fascination MAXX because most of them never training on that songs and that difficulty,. Most of them just remember 3rd mix songs like Afronova, Paranoia Rebirth (since I often saw some people mislook to banner because they saw word PARANOIA and they choose wrong PARANOIA. Aw, lack of information). They're very hard to like fast songs or new songs or challenging songs because they only want to know a little about DDR, not want to know all DDR songs even the hardest DDR songs in the world. I wonder how to make popular some songs like Afronova because from i watch, actually some people like Afronova because of Jump steps in the 1st beginning. I believe there are some people like Fascination MAXX like me , but it seem imposible since not all DDR gamer is hardcore gamer. They just wanna have fun, not to challenging their skill, not want to know how the steps like and how the songs goes by. Most of them are girl, teenager girl. Very few girl player can beat FAXX unless they train too much and have a lot of stamina. If somebody can beat that songs easily like Kobayan, it's wonderful since after watch crazy movement of FAXX , almost nobody want to try that song because that songs seems too hard or crazy. I think it's time for us to make hard songs goes to popular choice, not only oldies DDR like Afronova. I still can't pass FAXX in Oni but I still try and try. Maybe someday i can beat FAXX in Oni.

LOL, I wouldn't try to make a song popular just for the sake of sharing interests. In fact, that would make me hate the song after hearing it so much.

About Fascination MAXX, I'd play only one time and clear with D rank in Expert.Single.

Well, since he put it in stealth on the Healing Vision Angelic Mix, I guess it doesn't make too much difference if he plays it backwards. Right?

You'd think so, but when you play backwards you have to flip the arrows you memorized in the same direction so you don't get confused

Whenever I turn backwards (which is hardly ever), I'm not entirely facing 180 degrees away from the screen. Since the arrows are just at an angle, I don't have to flip anything in my mind.
