it's not going to be released this year for sure, it got delisted from konami's page of upcoming products for this year, doesn't mean it's cancelled but who knows

I’d assume that we would have heard something if they were canceled but this is Konami so I expect the unexpected. I actually see them doing something with DDR V before I see anything with Ultimate Mobile.

It's actually the opposite: Konami usually is silent whenever they cancel a (BEMANI) game. See how Otoiroha has not been officially canceled but everybody knows that it's not going to be released.
That said, I recall that SOUND VOLTEX UM was further in development than DDR UM, so we might see the former being released next year or so.

Aaron Tokunaga has said its been delayed due to programming issues and staff shortages. Apparently DDR V was thrown together by a completely unrelated team.

I completely understand staffing shortages in the midst of COVID. Perhaps they will just provide an update on everything at TGS then. At least we have stepmania to hold us over Hopefully everything will come together soon and we wont experience anymore delays in the video game world.
That's interesting to know that DDR V was thrown together by an unrelated team. That could be reason for the lack of quality control even though it's in alpha.

Only time will tell. I hope we at least get an update on the delay.
It’s finally the week of TGS! Hopefully the curtain will be unveiled on a new release window this week!
Edit: Had anyone heard anything out of TGS for this? Im looking everywhere to see if anything came up.

It doesn't look like Konami was presenting on their rhythm games during this years TGS. I really hope they haven't cancelled the project.

This was today's presentation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS2xt7609ZY
Tomorrow they're presenting "A special show featuring the latest Momotaro Dentetsu game, Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa Heisei Reiwa mo Teiban!"
And that is everything Konami brought to TGS 2020.

I'll be honest with 4 failed attempts at mobile DDR, do we really want this? And most of us have Stepmania anyway which in a lot of ways is a better experience in some cases. Like this doesn't excite me and I feel like this is just a waste of time. I say cancel it.

I think it’s more that I don’t want to see it die. I miss the glory days but I know it will never be like that again. Stepmania truly is the answer. It’s very strange how little this is being publicized. I really thought they would have done something in regards to the UM series and maybe even DDR V

Yeah the glory days were something else, I miss those times. But honestly with all the failed attempts at a good mobile DDR over the years crashing and burning(DDR S, DDR S+, DDR Dance Wars to name a few), and with so many better and better looking alternatives, I see no point in getting excited for this, I want this cancelled. And honestly with what they showed so far of this, this looks like shit, I've seen Stepmania theming look better than this, This whole situation is just a mess.

I’ll agree it’s been a mess on the mobile scene ( ddr freedom I’m looking at you especially). With this project the lack of information over an almost 2 year time frame is sad as well. I completely agree that this has nothing on the current builds/themes of stepmania. It’s such a shame because the potential is there for a successful game. With the popularity of Ace and Stepmaniax its apparent that the demand for a panel based game is still there. It’s just a shame that the community does way better than the “professional” developers in delivering a quality game.

The "professionals" have to consider the entire audience, in large part the casual audience, and not just the hardcore jerks we all can be.

Good point, we can be very picky. There’s so many ways it could be successful for all. I never see Konami doing anything that would even be a tiny step in the right direction though. I had hope seeing new cs games but the radio silence scares me.

Wrong! It didn't release because of DDR GRAND PRIX and the other Bemani Cloud games on PC. And let's be real here, who wants a mobile version when we have games on PC that has all the arcade stuff, proper controller support, and would be limited and not very polished just like every other DDR Mobile release. And you're also wrong about IIDX ULTIMATE MOBILE because it's actually doing better than expected and the UM Music Player mode in the game is releasing current songs from Bemani games too, so it's doing quite well. IIDX UM has nothing to do with the failure/cancelled status of the other UM games.

Grand Prix definitely isn't a cloud game. I'm not sure about the others since I never subscribed to them, but Grand Prix installs on your PC and runs natively, no cloud about it. And a lot of people play mobile games, the game existing on PC or console doesn't change that. That's why mobile games are made. People play them. Not that we have a PC DDR game with "all the arcade stuff", because that doesn't exist at all, but still.
