It's confirmed legal, as of round C with Jordan.
No, Jordan is different. The cut is lazy. Like the filemaker took out the first minute and then cut the music out after 2 minutes or so. Of course Lisek's going to want to re-cut, and it's a sensible thing to do.
Yours is still somewhat steppable. Yes, it's a bit repetitive, but... isn't part of the challenge when you get the song is to make it interesting? It has happened many times over the course of the contest, and people have proved that it can be done.

If I can be honest, this issue has been bothering me for a while, too. The wording isn't clear so DJXYZ thought he can just cut something.
Quote: recut rules
2. Before submitting, notify a host about the re-cut, and provide the cut.
You haven't provided me a cut to judge, so I can't tell.

So far, all the issues regarding re-cuts are about the song being too long (except Jordan, which is pretty much unanimous). I don't know if I should allow this. SH's post on the SS13 thread may include this specific case, but (a) it's not really mentioned and (b) even SH said no when asked two months ago. (I can recall someone asking for SH's permission to recut, though.)

The only reason I vaguely allowed it back then is because of that SS13 post, and now I think that reason is pretty weak. Back then, Simfile Shuffle is only on its first year, so it makes sense that there will be loads of patches here and there.

Alright, here's what I will do.
If DJXYZ can PM me his cut before submitting and it's sensible enough, I'll allow it. It's the last week, anyway.
However, should there be a 2016 Shuffle and I'm still in charge somehow, I'm thinking that I'd allow recuts only if:
- it's off sync (even then, no modifications allowed other than sync correction),
- it's in bad quality (this is relative to the user, also no modifications [thanks Cuzco]), or
- it's cut horribly (a la ROUND C's Jordan, then cut however you like).
You still need to notify a host about your re-cut.

So no recuts if the song is too long or too short unless it's one of the above. Sounds cool? I want this issue to finally be resolved, and everyone can know which things are allowed and which aren't.

(I really hope this doesn't come across as rude. This year's contest has been a rollercoaster ride for me.)

I think that's a good idea.

However, I also think that recuts should ALSO be allowed if;

- it's bad quality (including but not limited to 128 kbps or less, or mono audio like Super Fantasy), then you'd find better quality audio and EXACTLY reconstruct the cut with it, no other modifications allowed (unless it's off-sync too, then refer to the fixing sync rule)

I believe Gameoson did this for Happy Synthesizer.

I'm personally not too picky about audio quality, but if I notice the bad quality is REALLY obvious (something like 64 kbps), I'd definitely want to reconstruct the audio.

I need to modify the cut I already made anyway, this shouldn't be a problem. I'll PM the final cut when I can make it.
Not around here too often anymore, but I still play DDR & maimai!
My final contest run was in my signature so I guess I'll keep it here for those who wanna play my last few charts:

I'm not sure why you'd absolutely need to redo the cut if it's mono instead of stereo. Most songs aren't heavily dependent on stereo panning. Neutral

In my opinion, there's a definite difference if an audio file with two channels (especially music) gets converted into one channel, whether it be one, the other, or combining both. Sometimes, stereo to mono causes some sounds or instruments to get blurred. Comparing that cut to this YouTube video, there are certain sounds in that one (specifically the cymbals) that I was unable to notice at first in the cut that got presented in the contest. You don't have to redo the audio if it's mono, though, but it does make the audio sound cleaner. Who knows, maybe if there's some left-right panning going on, you could make some stepchart gimmicks based off of those somehow?

Even if songs might not depend on stereo panning, forcing mono can make them sound really bad Tongue

I haven't ever tried forcing stereo audio into mono so I wouldn't know how bad it can get. Tongue I'll take your word for it though.

BPM: 127
Classic | Beginner 1 | Light 3 | Standard 5 | Heavy 8 | Challenge 7 |
X-Scale | Beginner 2 | Light 4 | Standard 8 | Heavy 12 | Challenge 10 |
At its core, it's an easier Superfabulous with a Latin twist.
Challenge is once again a roll-centered bonus chart.

"Two milkmen go comedy"
I'm considering creating challenge charts for this song after this Simfile Shuffle concludes, but for now, I think the heavy chart should be fun enough. The standard (singles) chart takes influence from the corresponding chart from BOOM BOOM DOLLAR (K.O.G. G3 MIX), in that it has a few long 8th note runs thrown in, including crossovers on the final one.

Anyways, here are my notes:
Automatic (LA Riots Remix)- A remix of (or the version that was used for?) the North American introduction to GT5 Prologue! (This brings back some pretty bad memories.) About the heavy chart, I think that it is decent, but deviates too far from the lyrics for my taste.
Go! Go! Sega Rally- The 12th swing of the heavy chart works well in some places, but not quite as well in others, in my opinion.
HADAKA NO HADAKA NO KISS- The heavy chart has some unfortunately understepped areas, but otherwise is quite good, had little of the doublestepping that plagued some of your other files of the Simfile Shuffle, and deserves some more points. I also like the 16th jacks present in the standard chart
Monstrous Turtles- Personally, I haven't scrutinized the heavy chart since that is far out of my reach, and the challenge chart was clarified by Braeden (in the chat) to be a joke chart. However, the standard chart that was included feels like a brilliant diamond, in that it is supremely fun and theraputic to play, has almost no flaws, and resembles a chart that I could see myself create for the song.
Na Na Na- A pretty fun heavy chart, and the use of hands was interesting.
Poinsetta- Fun charts, and interesting use of freeze arrow in the challenge charts.
Regret Breaker- Very fun heavy chart, reminds me of Sister's Noise with its straightforward nature.
Stardust Vox- The song is strange at parts, but I think you did a good job between the standard and heavy charts.
We Can't Stop- I think that the parts with the heavy freeze arrows should have been more heavily stepped on the heavy chart (especially since this is a slow song), but otherwise the chart is nice.

And here are my votes:
Monstrous Turtles- +5
HADAKA NO HADAKA NO KISS- +3
Na Na Na- +2
Poinsetta- +1
Regret Breaker- +1
Go! Go! Sega Rally- +1
Stardust Vox- +1
We Cant't Stop- +1
Automatic (LA Riots Remix)- Honorable Mention

And here are the totals:
Poinsettia [mf32892] - 36
Regret Breaker [brunobg24] - 29
Na Na Na [Lisek] - 23
Go! Go! Sega Rally [The Legendary DJXYZ] - 17

Automatic (LA Riots Remix) [Telperion] - 16
Ignite [Nezemarth] - 12
Stardust Vox [HealingDMax300] - 7
Monstrous Turtles [Braedon47] - 5
HADAKA NO HADAKA NO HADAKA NO KISS [SupremeX] - 4

Welp, I might be knocking myself out of the lead by closing the gap between brunobg24 and I.

I'm pretty much done stepping my file, but I still have to work on graphics. If I don't manage to finish those on time, then I'll just upload the charts and my new cd-title tonight (within the next 7-8 hours).

Automatic (LA Riots Remix)
Heavy This is generally good. One part that sort of bothered me was the section in the song preview. The vocals were partially stepped, and then the rhythm was switched to the Gguitars. I think it would have been a bit better if you had continued the vocal rhythms like you did in the final repetition.

Go Go Sega Rally - Song reminds me of stuff from DDR MAX era (the instruments used in parts of exotic ethnic, I think)
Heavy Not sure how well the 24ths fit here. I think it the quantization might be slightly different. It might be more of the 3/64ths swing that Gameoson mentioned about SPLASH. Or it might even be fine as 16ths, who knows? As for the chart, It looks all right otherwise. It's pretty fun, but timing is weird.

Hadaka no hadaka no hadaka no kiss - I like the song, but the chart doesn't give it justice.
Heavy There are many mis-stepped rhythms, especially during the vocals. There was one part that should have been 12ths. It seems that you made an effort to emulate Lisek (For Sure), but there's still doublesteps prevalent throughout. (I don't know if you've been reading or understanding what we're talking about honestly)

Ignite - Song sounds pretty epic
Heavy This is in no way perfect, but I still think this is one of the better charts from this week. There was one section that I felt should have been left empty. Some of the rhythms did feel a bit weird, too, but it's fine overall. There were a couple doublesteps present as well, but some of them could be footswitched.
Challenge There were some iffy parts in the beginning, but I enjoyed the 2nd half of the chart.

Monstrous Turtles - Really don't think 206 BPM was necessary. This song gives me a more toned back vibe to it.
Heavy It almost seems unnecessarily difficult. I think there are some other relatively interesting aspects of this song that could be used for stepping.
Challenge I was present in the chat when you mentioned this was a joke chart. So...ummm...I guess this is even more crazy than Expert, by a lot.

Na Na Na - Yay! Pentatonix! I think I know exactly who submitted this! (btw. I haven't submitted anything to the back-up pile...so...)
Heavy Good, though it was rather disappointing that I couldn't register the hands on my keyboard. I did try it as if I were playing on a pad and it was very unique doing the hands. I think that was the first time I actually tried hands.

Poinsettia - Tbh, I wasn't expecting this to do so well. I was insecure about parts of this, and I struggled to make final decisions when charting this. Oftentimes, I come up with many different renditions of the same section of a chart and then I have trouble deciding which section fits better in my eyes. (I can show an example I guess, if anyone is interested)

Regret Breaker - Love this one
Heavy This is great! I don't mind the easy difficulty easier. It's very reminiscent of DDR charts that I like.

Stardust Vox - The song is alright in terms of stepping. There are some very steppable parts, but some parts don't seem as conducive to stepping.
Heavy Aside from that one part at the end that you already acknowledged, this was decent. Actually more fun to play on pad than I expected.

We Can't Stop - Don't particularly like the video in this case (basically because subject matter). Song isn't too bad, though
Heavy I think this deserves at least a point of two. The chart isn't bad and I think it fits the song well for the most part. I don't think the long 16th streams are really necessary. Also this is in no way a 9, it's more of a 7. I did enjoy pad-playing this, though, so definitely points for that.

I may be done as a contestant, but I can still be a voter!

Kept messing up on this in the second half, but it was cool. There ARE some strange doublesteps around the middle, though.

Good. Nothing I caught in this one that was out of place.

Doublesteps again. However, your rhythms are good (at least, in my opinion), so I'm excusing them. I do think you should try not to use them, though, as it's what's costing you points (and not just in this round, you've never gotten more than 7 points on any round).

Something that caught me off in Heavy was there was this section that went something like R-U-L-DL that seemed like a poor pattern. Actually, I was pretty bad at this chart in general for some reason. But this is a bizarre instance where I don't sightread full combo the Heavy chart but I get the Challenge chart sightread. Usually it's either none, the Heavy chart only, or both. I'm giving points to this one for the Challenge chart as there's something about Heavy that is bothering me.

Monstrous Turtles!

Oh... god... First, I couldn't even pass the Heavy chart. I feel as though everything should be moved up by 1 difficulty (and maybe have a new Beginner chart) and...just...not have the Challenge chart presented in this file, that'd be more reasonable. This is already insanity enough. Plus, there are some annoying jacks in the Heavy chart. It's starts out decent, I won't say the Heavy chart is that bad, but it really should've been the Challenge chart or at least not have a chart above it. How are things able to get harder than this?

(key note: 206 BPM)

Wha-- NO.

NO.

WHAT THE FUCK.

Did you fucking see if you could pass this chart before releasing?! These 24ths, 32nds, jumps, and crossovers aren't possible at this BPM! I couldn't get past this mess on 0.8x music speed! (oh, and there's doublesteps littered in the beginning and green note syndrome at the end too.)

Yes, I did something similar for Road to G6's joke Challenge chart, but I made it obvious it was a joke chart (I'm certain it's the twisty Heavy chart that cost it points). This one was not marked as such.

On the bright side, it's not Jumper.

Okay, so let's download the skeleton for Jumper vincentw posted way back here and reproduce the Heavy chart EXACTLY, but without all of the off-beat and off-sync problems and unnecessary speedups. Just the steps, fixed at 130 BPM. Jumper, while still ALSO having a really bad 16th stream, is not the 13 Junko attempted to be. It only goes up to an 11, as stated by Telperion. I'm sorry to say this, but...

This is the worst chart I have encountered in the entire contest.

Now let's move on before I get carried away again.

Eh, I'm not a big fan of hands or bracketing, but otherwise, I say you handled this file really well. I think you were aiming for the hands to be like, a compliment to the stomping or clapping in the song? :P

Hm... Heavy, it played fine for the most part, but then there was a step-jump part at the end that I felt didn't flow well. I played Challenge, and...well, the same problematic step-jump patterns arose multiple times and really messed me up. I'm unfortunately not feeling this like everyone else is. :/

Very good. :3 A smooth 7 footer that plays off like a better LOVE CLUTCH, I like it. This should win.

Wow, this one was WEIRD. First, that beginning confused me. I got a good on the 3rd arrow, and then that rhythm was incomprehensible. After that, the chart was pretty much solid. Except for that one double step at the end, but since you clarified it was a stepping error, I'll let it slide.

https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/simfiles/Z-I-v%20Simfile%20Shuffle%202015/%5BROUND%20K%5D%20-%20We%20Can%27t%20Stop/%5BROUND%20K%5D%20-%20We%20Can%27t%20Stop.png?t=1454345662

Wha... THIS is a 9 footer?

http://orig09.deviantart.net/3a12/f/2016/038/9/d/2016_02_07_165522_by_rusty_raccoon_735-d9qx2qk.jpg

This has less arrows than SupremeX's Can't Sleep Love. There is no way this is a 9 footer. At most, it's a 5 or 6 footer. Anyway... ugh, I got one random good on this. This wasn't the best stepchart, but this song is frankly a boring song to step. With that, I noticed an out of place yellow syndrome note somewhere in the middle of the chart, but other than that, this one wasn't bad. Just a bit boring. :/

Oh, and... ... WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT MUSIC VIDEO?

No really. What the hell is going on in the background of that? Anonymous faces? Teddy bears? What?? This is more bizarre than the DDR 1st-Extreme randommovies...

And the votes, they go...

Oh, and by the way, I'm giving kudos to The Legendary DJXYZ because he got into all 12 rounds! Congratulations to him! :3 Looking forward to Lunu Dehi, I love Superfabulous' charts so this should play the same.
