I'll be honest, when I was in Tokyo I didn't see a whole lot of people playing pop'n music. I didn't even see anyone playing the Hello! pop'n test machine inside the Konamistyle store.

Its seems the contest was only mentioned in a Twitter Feed. Guess like not everyone in Japan has Twitter 
and on top of that they must not like Pop n' Music anymore probably because its too easy, maybe.

1. pop'n is never too easy. 28~s kick my ass everytime.
2. Japanese people favor twitter over most social networks due to how secretive it is (it doesn't require a ton info of your personal life)
