I do think there is something more to it too. I unlocked a few songs by failing them. One I failed near the end (was about ten seconds left of the song) and I unlocked it. The other I failed very early on (ドーパミン as a reference, lost at the 400 BPM part) and I also unlocked it. The first song I was level 2 and the second was level 3. Wonder if level 3 is just instant unlock at that point. I could try when I play again unless someone else wants to try it out.
I can confirm that when playing with EXTRA STAGE Level 3, the locked song will instantly unlock so long as you choose it on Extra Stage. I got IX

Wait, if I'm understanding this correctly, only Japan has PASELI, which is required to access a handful of options including screen filter and combo underneath arrows? It's impossible to enable any of these options in the US?

Screen filter is now free.

The combo-blocking-the-arrows thing would not be a problem if the font size wasn't humongous. >_>
Konami, I know you just added a zillion dollars worth of pop music, but could you just tweak that one thing... xP
EDIT: Actually, what's more obnoxious is the fact that weren't the combos historically behind the arrows? Couldn't even remember clearly, even though someone probably mentioned this when we first got combo blocked... why? Why would they "fix" what wasn't broken?

You can get Paseli here in America, you just gotta set your region to Japan on your Konami account. Just use the google translator to get through the Japanese language though and you should be.
I bought bitcash though and then I used the code to buy the Paseli basic subscription.
Honestly though, you don't need it unless you want the combo/judgement text behind the arrows and if you want the fast/slow feature since you can change the filter, guidelines, and arrow type for free.

I do have a quick question (I am not sure if it has already been answered or not):
Is PASELI required to access EXTRA STAGE and any EXTRA STAGE events, or can you still use regular credits for that?

Not required. Premium Play is required though.

Okay, so I only have to put credits in the game twice?
Definitely getting an E-Amusement card whenever I get the chance sometime.

You can change your character. You just have to do it through the eAmusement website.Post #1933 · Posted at 2016-07-13 12:07:38am 9.3 years ago

I really need to go to that Round 1 soon, as it's the only one in Washington state.
Sadly, it's a long ways away from Everett to the south. I wouldn't mind a long car ride to it that much, though.
Actually, instead of this, I really wouldn't mind the GameWorks in downtown Seattle--the closest arcade that I've visited the most--having its aging Extreme cabinet replaced with a DDR A cabinet instead.

I would agree if GameWorks took more care of their cabinets. The pads on their Extreme, X, and X2 cabinets are so bad with SuperNOVA 2 being their only saving grace and it looks like they're not going to bother to fix them. I would definitely come down to this Round 1 though. If you're into PIU, the price of the Prime machine was lowered to 4 credits from 6 and it qualifies for time play now.

No. Character select req. e-Amusement account, as DDR X2. You should change it on e-Amusement Gate.Post #1939 · Posted at 2016-07-13 03:40:08am 9.3 years ago
