I just went to the staff blog and checked some posts

I think they said that they really sneaked in a video, and thought nobody would found out about that in at least 10 days...
Turns out it became a rather hot topic on twitter on the day of update (as they found out).
There is a condition for it to appear though; most likely you need to graduate from BEMANI Gakuen for it to appear (as ddr_ray suspected lol)

Watch it be the best chart we've seen in years.

Don't fret, look at the 3rd part of the Royz video -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmgVzfJFl0A

It'll be written by Tomoya (who is seen FCing Starry HEAVEN S-Heavy no bar), so I guess he knows what is he doing. (also May 11th is his birthday)

1.) What are those white lines on both players? Are those the Sudden+ (On the left) and Hidden+ (On the right)?
2.) What is/are the word(s) coming out sometimes above the word "combo"?

@Silverhawke, regarding your answer to question number 1,

1.) How near the target zone can the Sudden+ go?
2.) How far from the target zone can the Hidden+ go?

That was one of the weirder songs I've heard in DDR in a while.

Both of the charts are really jump heavy. ACROSS WORLD is very meh but Starry HEAVEN is not bad at all. Better then I was expecting. Smile

@Silverhawke, why is it that the word "Fast" or "Slow" above the word "combo" on player 1 do not appear? On player 2, it does.

"Fairy-nough"
@luigiacruz - It's an emause only feature, and you can turn it on and off if you have a card.

On another note, it seems like the chart quality has been upped considerably on this mix - in particular I love what they did with Elemental Creation - Standard,Heavy, and Challenge all look awesome. Can't wait to see the next boss song (even if I can't play it in person).

Thanks to Lord Toon for the wonderful sig image!

If you'd like a review on a contest chart, PM me! (Reviews will probably be given on or around the Friday after the PM fyi.)

ACROSS WORLD's S-challenge chart is not bad but it was obviously written by a complete fucking asshole

Starry HEAVEN also looks kinda fun and it was clearly written by the same guy, haha

I like that these charts FEEL like they were written by someone else, it's a kinda original stepping style

That's not quite right. It's a premium feature you can only toggle if you're paying for the e-Amusement subscription, unless you used the website while it was bugged like me Big Grin (the flip side being, if I ever see DDR 2013 again, I won't be able to toggle it off unless I pay up lol)

Outside of those atrocious jump-step sequences, the chart isn't bad. I would have preferred some 16th clusters here but Konami loves their jumps in rock songs.

Starry Heaven is much better but still feels eh. Maybe it's because the song reminds me a lot of Venus by Tatsh.

I will also subscribe to the notion that 'original' doesn't always mean 'good.'

The two charts were written by one of the band members iirc (mentioned earlier in the thread)

Given many of the charts on Zenius and bemanistyle, those charts could have turned out a lot worse. I'm content with them.

Yes, they are charted by the drummer of Royz (S-Challenge only). He knows what he's doing apparently (since he FCed Starry HEAVEN Heavy no bar)

Also since there's no video of it yet, I took a video of ラキラキ D-Expert.

For this new DDR song, I brought back my old alias for making fanciful ethnic music “world sequence”.
I first discussed this song at the unveiling of the new DDR cabinet at the arcade show earlier this year.

Lately I’ve been receiving more and more requests to do non-pop songs and venture off a little bit into different rhythm songs, so I suppose this song falls into that category?
I was asked to make a song outside the typical dance song, so it was decided that I would make a song inspired by the marching of soldiers and that was combined with a folksy-color to the song to make it sound intercontinental.

Qipchaq was the original name given to the region of central Asia by the old tribes who lived there. You may remember reading about this tribe in your history textbook as part of the Ghangis Khan’s Mongolian empire, but it seems that the tribe was filled with brave warriors and the region was often engrossed in battles.

I named the song Qipchaq because the song has the image of warriors wondering through the vast grass plains on their horses, although this title was added after the song was composed (laughs). Thanks to the title, I was able to learn a little bit about Chinese history.

I think that you can imagine traveling through the vast grass plains while you dance to this song.
