Am I the only one that’s underwhelmed if this is the “grand finale”? Challenge charts are always welcome but I just hope there is more if this is the finale of content. Granted I am definitely just making assumptions that we won’t receive anything else.

given that A20 was fully released for non-western non-gold cabs, no more content has been added to A since then, and these challenge charts are exclusively for A20 I think, and ofc we know rn as of this post A20 is only in Asia ATM

I think its fine that we know that the 20th anniversary DDR songs have challenge charts "all along". Frankly, it would be an insult to the intelligence of humanity if it's not acknowledged that they existed once it got out after data-mining. You're asking for a Barbra Streisand effect if so.
I don't know how affected I am with the whole Gold cab thing (may suck as Ace Out is a banger) as I haven't played in a while and I've always been able to play on Premium Mode. I haven't even imported my data from DDR A (yes, I now have an e-amuse pass).

Is this event locked behind premium? I know people are saying this is Asia exclusive, but considering all A20 gold cabs in the US are currently operating as Asia region cabs, does this mean we'll have access to this event?

I think people are confused by the version notation, which is similar to the DDR A posts that didn't include the US version. Summer Dance Camp has the same version notation, but that is fully accessible on the Round1 gold cabs.
