I really enjoy the Dancers, far less distracting than the BGV's. Although they are good in moderation, there is currently a good balance of BGV's to Dancers.

The dancers are far cooler when they have specific dance routines and stage effects like HP2.
By the way, anyone going to Comic-Con in two days?

I figure what they could do is after you choose the song, it can show the BG while it says what stage you're about to do, and maybe any other bits of information they want to put there, and then go to the gameplay screen with the dancer on his/her dancing stage.

I hated the dancers at first, but now I've gotten used to them, plus their starting to do creative things with them like give them costumes, accessories and routines. The BG vids were kinda repetivive and dumb anyway if you actually stop and watch them for a bit.
One thing I think they really need to do, though it doesnt look like they did so from the videos at E3, is give each and every song a CD cover that appears when it says "Nth Stage" rather than just boss songs for FS/ES. If they did this for the arcade version of this game (assuming there is one), they could sorta resurrect the old pre-SN graphics that were lost.

The more unique BG videos present in Dancing Stage Max/Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 were the best in my opinion. At least if Konami couldn't afford to licence the song's official music videos, or most likely couldn't be bothered, then they at least created a unique video to fit the song.
I like a lot of the dancing characters but sometimes seeing them spazz out random moves to the songs is more distracting than it's worth and the brightly coloured stages don't really help. At least the Hottest Party characters had specific dance moves for many songs or else moved more naturally to the music.

*wakes up* Huh? What?By the way, anyone going to Comic-Con in two days?
Oh yeah, me... lol Sorry, I'm still trying to recover from my awesome Anime Expo experience from a couple of weeks ago. I started to forget this event was happening! lol
I'm going. Unfortunately, I just discovered all the digital cameras that I have around me have no sound during video playback! lol
I'm not worried, I'm sure one of my buddies who's coming in tomorrow will have his real nice camera with him that I usually use when I take comic con videos, so there's that option.
Anyway, tonight is the hectic preview night thing, so I'll be there. At the very least I'll get a video of the song wheel so I can compile an accurate list of what is playable and I'll be able to make a casual impression of what the game is like. Prediction: "WHEN I GROW UP HAS THE WORST EDIT EVER!!!" lol I hope not!
Oh, and there's always the chance they wont even have DDR out there... but I hope that's not the case! Let's all think positive thoughts.

Hmm...Does everyone even have their booths set up on the preview night? I was under the impression that most people didn't completely set up until the first "true" day. Either way, will be looking forward to your report :3.

More things happen in Tampa than Winnipeg... Well, that pretty much applies to almost anything (I said almost).

If they announced already that it was gonna be When I Grow Up, then just disregard this. What if the song is I Hate This Part?

Kynako: It is assumed that the song is When I Grow Up because when Konami was talking about licensed artists/music for this game, the actual music video for When I Grow Up was shown.
OKAY, SO I'M BACK FROM THE COMIC CON.
Oof, it was pretty tragic. Konami is basically doing nothing but mostly promoting Yu-gi-oh! TCG while their sister/subsidary/whatever Hudson is promoting their line of casual titles. There were zero signs of anything else and no promise of DDR at all. Looks like this comic con is a bust for information!

BUT i doubt Konami would put out DDR over Yu-Gi-Oh, sooo let the rage begin

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Well we still got that one convention in Germany, just don't know when it is (probably in August).

August 19th is when gamescom starts, but who knows if anybody who will record songlist information/videos will be going to that.
I guess we can hold out hope that they will display something tomorrow, but otherwise meh.

Max: I didn't think of taking a photo of this booth, but if you saw it, you would see that there is literally no room for DDR there with what they have. Its the smallest booth I've ever seen them have. They had like NO game stations for Konami titles (if there were any, I certainly didn't notice them!), a information desk, a photo booth with green screen related to Yu-gi-oh!, a couple of tables for people to play TCG, and a small area to buy Konami goods. (NO Konamistyle products unlike last year.) I'll probably be there tomorrow, so I'll try taking a snap of the booth so you can all see what I'm talking about. Also, I didn't bother actually ASKING, so I'll try that, I was just kind of like whatever after I saw the booth's layout.
EDIT - I should also point out that Konami clearly didn't have anything covered up for Preview Night like other booths such as Capcom did. It was all pretty much out there.
