From my knowledge, it's $10 for E-Amusement Cards from any Round 1 locations. Whereas it's only $5 for the Dave and Buster's locations with DDR A.

Any noteworthy advantages to using an e-Amusement card if you decide not to play Premium Mode?

You need an eamuse card if you want to change your noteskin colors and most other non-assist arrow options.

$10 for the generic grey ones at Round 1. $5 for the generic red/white ones at DnB.

You're on the wrong site if you're thinking of playing without a player account.

Even if you refuse to touch Premium Mode at a 100% markup instead of the 8-28% markup typically seen in Japan, there are quite a few reasons to want a card:

* score tracking. (If you play without a card and set a new record, you do NOT get the opportunity to set your nickname. I didn't bother checking whether the machine records it as "KONAMI" or just drops it completely)
* rivals
* non-Premium Mode unlocks. Cross-BEMANI events offer non-Premium Mode unlocks, if you complete the event.
* some modifiers now require using a card. Additional modifiers require attaching your card to a free p.eagate.573.jp account. An additional 2 modifiers require Basic Course.

I'm sure there are other features I take for granted, as I've never been insane enough to play without a card.

If it's like having a card for IIDX, it's worth paying $5/$10 for a card for sore tracking and the extra modifiers like screen filter and extra arrow skins. It's also fun as hell to have a rival around your level and trying to compete for scores.

So I just went to the D&B in Westchester (LA). It didn't seem like they had any e-amuse cards yet. At the very least, the woman I talked to had no idea what they were.

Sucked that I couldn't save scores or change a lot of mods, but I had a great time! (I lost my wallet that had the my card from the location test.)

The game was in local mode at the time (I think b/c of maintenance on the eamuse site) so I didn't see any records from anywhere.

I saw someone there, who was talking to my dad (or vice versa) waiting to play, was it any of you?

Note that depending on the location, arrival date doesn't always mean ready to play, as seen from the Hawaii and Nashville location. If it's not there, give it a couple days or try ask the front desk.

I have an e-amusement pass that I bought online a long time ago. It is a generic white card which does say "Let's enjoy the amusement world." on the front of the card. The back is in Japanese, but the very bottom on the back of the card has the link of the website in english.

Can my card work for DDR A that is coming to my location soon which would be NY Times Square Dave and Busters?

Should work. I think someone mentioned a few pages back of people using their passes that were originally for PW on this one and it worked fine.

I have the same card and have used it at arcades in both Japan and the US without any problems (though technically they were connected to the same JP server).

DDR A US version does not go offline during Japan maintenance hours. Play data also still ends up on http://p.eagate.573.jp/game/ddr/ac/p/playdata/index.html

Is there any other explanation as to why it was in local mode coinciding with the maintenance time?

As for not seeing records, Area #1, World #1 etc were all blank. Is this because I didn't use an E-amusement pass or because of local mode?

By Cross-BEMANI events, you mean unlocking a song through a separate game like IIDX or pop'n? Are there any songs you can unlock in DDR A alone, with e-Amuse card, and no Premium Mode? Either way there is no doubt I'm buying an e-Amusement card for the modifiers and whatnot. My scores aren't spectacular so leaderboards aren't too important to me. I just want to know if there are any songs to watch out for so that I can get them out of the way. There are so many new songs to play even without Premium Mode that I'd like to play as many of those as I can and save my money. I'll only be able to play for one day thanks to a vacation trip, so I want to make the best of it.

If you are only able to play once or twice, it is probably not worth it to buy an e-AMUSEMENT pass. However, if you are planning on playing multiple times, it is worth it to buy an e-AMUSEMENT pass as soon as possible.

I'm probably going to blow $20 bucks on DDR A alone, for a single day.

Get the pass. You will need it later on anyway so just make the 5-10 dollar investment. It's worth it.

Does anyone know if ミライプリズム, and by extension, 滅亡天使 † にこきゅっぴん and 乙女繚乱 舞い咲き誇れ are in DDR A US?
I believe that 乙女繚乱 舞い咲き誇れ might still be in the game, but I was searching for ミライプリズム in the 10s folder and couldn't find it.

Also, more generally, what songs are absent from the game? Stuff like B2U AKBK and Paranoia kskst aren't available, but what else is missing?
