Hmm, are you sure that RP plays an important role in the RSF output? I personally don't believe that RP will affect the base percentile chances of the ULC...I have a friend who had less than 300 RP and still got nothing (using FREE TICKETS daily) from an RSF while I (at the time) had around 1200+ RP and got 2 YELLOW ULC and 1 GREEN ULC + 2 BLUE ULC just on FREE TICKETS. We were both participating in the same RSF event.


I think that the base percentages are static with the only possible change being a player that has all of his/her current songs' difficulties unlocked, thus negating the possibility of a BLUE ULC (becomes 0% chance with 0 distribution).....and I doubt that casinos would bother giving a player an advantage by adding percentages to a part of a system because he/she has already 'conquered' another part. You'd be surprised how significant a 1% increase could be in a situation like this.


Like a casino slot machine, I truly believe that RSF is luck-based, not skill-based (RP, being "skill"). You could be a VIP/GOLD/PLATINUM/DIAMOND/etc. member for your dedication/long-term spending, but that won't change any factors or "chances" of you winning any more than the person sitting next to you in rags gambling on his last dollar. Like you said, it's pretty much "Casino x Beats", and the house will ALWAYS have the advantage. The simulator was built on this principle.

You realize CxB isn't actually a casino, right? Casinos rely on players losing money for them to make money. This is a game where Capcom makes money the more you play regardless of your skill level. They have an incentive to keep players interested.

Also, based on my own observations and data points from people talking about how many tickets they had to spend for a ULC (across this thread, Twitter, and the 2ch threads), it seems the blue ULC drop rate is in fact static, but the yellow ULC drop rate is not. I don't know about green ULCs, but something definitely influences the yellow ULC drop rate, possibly on a per-song basis. There was one RSF where everybody and their brother reported getting a yellow ULC for Cross+Angel in very few rolls.

I do have a new hypothesis: There might be a hidden counter that increases as you spend tickets (possibly only counting premium tickets, or weighting them more than green tickets), regardless of whether or not there is an RSF active. The higher this counter, the better your odds of a yellow ULC, but every yellow ULC deducts a set amount from the counter.

This would explain why my usual partner in the point-grinding team events always seems to get the new RSF song in a matter of hours, usually faster than me. He also always scores considerably more than me in the events, which would imply he's throwing a lot of tickets at them. It would also explain why the people who use premium tickets on RSFs usually seem to report getting a yellow ULC after between 200 and 300 rolls whenever they don't get it almost immediately. And it'd also partially explain the possible RP correlation, since people with high RPs are also usually people who play the game a lot.

People on some wikis comment green tickets often have more "weight" than premium on many RSF exclusive rewards, yet this is quite unconfirmed for now. What it seem particularly odd in current RSF is that, according to messages on twitter, some RP+2000 players have been a really tough ticket-spending time trying to get Code Paradiso.

The first one is the user/player なおてえ (actually on 35th on RP Ranking) who claimed through twitter that getting Code Paradiso took him the insane amount of 4250 tickets; also, he detailed about buying the 3 Big Sale packs (750PT each one) and other 6 packs of 1800 yens (340 tickets each pack) just on this event. Money-speaking, that's almost 25.000 yens at once. Quite insane if you ask me.

The second case is user/player is Chion, who claimed he spent an exhorbitant 4090 tickets amount just to get Code Paradiso, plus he seemed really furiuous, stating how much he hated this RSF on his twitter account. On money-speaking, that's another near crazy amount... more than 20.000 if we assume he bought special packs. However, he could easily already had that much tickets, and many more, since on his videos, his premium ticket account has never been less than 8000-9000.

About Cross+Angel, on a pwersonal thought, that song has been almost like a gift for players since RSF 12th, when almost all my friend who didn't get it before that, "miraculously" got it added just playing a few times.

Poochy.EXE - Of course CROSSxBEATS isn't a casino, but you can't deny that CAPCOM gains most of its profit from the RSF events with people buying more PREMIUM TICKETS/PACKS from the shop. As for the Cross+Angel YELLOW ULC, I agree that a lot of people (including myself) got that song pretty quickly in comparison to others; even my friend got it during his first RSF ever along with some GLAY songs. The YELLOW ULC is definitely something, and your hypothesis is an interesting one. I've just updated the simulator (v1.1) today, but for the next update, I will consider interpreting your hypothesis into a workable algorithm. :)


Hido - I also have a notion that FREE TICKETS somehow might have more weight than PREMIUM TICKETS....you only get 2 shots every 3 hours and 20 minutes after all, and I have also gotten some RSF exclusives just on FREE TICKETS before. It's really hard to make an estimate on the base percentile chances of FREE TICKETS vs PREMIUM TICKETS, but I can only guess that the increased chances of FREE TICKETS over PREMIUM TICKETS are marginal...maybe ranging from 1%~5%. It's an interesting analogy nonetheless, and it just might be true. As for the whale expenditures, that's just too much money...that's just a bit less than the cost of a PS4. xD

Well I recently got an iPhone and put CxB on it as an alternate account for gathering STP for my main iPad account. Just using free tickets I got 2 yellow unlocks (Cross + Angel and Murasame) and one green unlock (Winter,Again). On my main 2000+ RP account I normally have to spend around 2000 premium tickets just to get one yellow unlock (I’ve unlocked everything else including all difficulty levels on all songs).

Maybe because Capcom is taking a not-so-good way regarding CxB these last weeks.

Songs being removed (not those of my particular taste, but is still disappointing)
Not a single new theme set for a while
Best songs on RanSai and what's worst, drop rate sky-rocketed some lightyears (no pun intended)

Basically that, in my opinion, I just hope indigo isle doesn't have a 60~180 bpm rage or something in those lines. Free sounds... simple

If it's any consolation Indigo Isle sounds quite good for a license and Free isn't too bad.

At least we are getting a Senpi song that isn't exclusive to Ransai for once.

The animosity and confusion over songs from Attack The Music from me has been fully cleared up now fortunately.

Hey guys, I just had a quick question, as I'm not too familiar with how the whole cross beats unlock system works. For these high score attack events, do you unlock the prizes as you hit the scores needed, or do you get them at the end of the event? Sorry if this has been cleared up within this thread somewhere, I sort of didn't feel like checking out 92 pages worth of stuff.

At the end of the event there will be some downtime, and at the time stated on the event page (will be fixed locally I believe), all event rewards will be given out.
