Stulti's stops are pretty spot on, just about what I was expecting. I was worried since they didnt put them in any other game that they may be lazy and skip them here. I really like the chart, but hope that a challenge chart is on its way eventually.
Why is it so hard to get videos of these songs in Japan lately, at least for DDR? Do that many less people play?

Most arcades don't allow Video Recording.

These charts look mighty fun to play, especially STULTI. btw, does anyone know the bpm of Bon Voyage? It looks like it's over 200.

I was not terribly thrilled with a few of the latest charts personally. I guess it would be more accurate that the music just wasn't really flowing well for me? Also, am I the only one who hears the a musical pattern similar to Dance Dance Revolution's opening in Another Phase? (The Song DDR, not the game. I realize Another phase is a remix of the theme's music)

Also, I did enjoy Another's Phase's single chart. I felt the double tried too hard to be um... hard.

It's not bad just kinda silly. In a Healing-D-Vision sort of way (but no where near that level of stupid. I'm trying to say that their attempt at making HDV difficult on doubles resulted in something ridiculous just like Another Phase. I would have much preferred having notes on a different beat as to avoid making the song hard with what appears to be awkward steps.)

That being said, I can't speak fully on the double's chart until I have the pleasure of playing these songs myself.

I disagree, these songs aren't too difficult. I'm pretty sure many high-skilled players can sightread them with ease, and if that's not your fancy, then don't play it. It's not stupidly unreasonable either, the steps flow well for the most part with good foot placement (as with most DDR charts).

DDR2013 has plenty of very easy songs already, it's about time the game showed at least one new kinda difficult song. I personally don't have a problem with any of the new songs, because the game was really lacking the kind of simplistic speed-difficulty that the new charts like Elemental Creation, GAIA and (RICE) have shown.

Reasonable difficult charts that are mostly forward facing, with crossovers that make sense, while being easier than previous designated "boss" songs from earlier in the series.

Some players are biased for not playing either BASIC or DIFFICULT within the difficulty range of 10 to 14, because they are just BASIC or DIFFICULT only (without looking at the number itself).

My quote from earlier

I never said that these songs are too difficult. I just don't particularly like them. And I can sight read the single charts with ease, even though I wouldn't get above a B or an A the first time. My point is like this:

Max 300 had a decent step chart, introduced some great difficulty and really felt fun. However, if they followed the same beat pattern for doubles, I think the stepchart would have been a bit of a disaster unless it was done like Angelic mix (which is really playing singles on two different pads, more or less). So, they followed a slightly different rhythm in the song which I actually found to be better and more fun than the single's chart.

With the doubles chart on Another Phase, I don't really enjoy it. Now, I'm not getting the pleasure of having a couple of pads and trying it out, so this is not a full critique. Until I get to play it, I can't say I definitively feel this way. But Another Phase's double's chart looks like they didn't know how to make it difficult on doubles without being kinda stupid. I could be wrong. I can't play it, so I won't know for quite sometime. But that's just how it looks to me.

even then sometimes it's hard to come up with a different rhythm for doubles (and that's not a must either)

I'll just give the doubles a try this Saturday...

btw @cali_surfer, no other bemani game feature true stops other than DDR. pop'n and IIDX emulate stops with very low BPM.

Well, Konami won't be releasing any new arcade cabinets or upgrade kits, but the will be updating the game with new songs and new interfaces through eAmusement. The songs are obviously going to come more frequently than the interfaces. It is likely that we will get some new songs this month, so stay tuned! Wink

Yeah i was going to say that but I wasnt quite sure. Its a good idea though now no one has to spend so much money on new arcade machines. hopefully one of them will come to my town someday

Hate to break it to you, but...it's unlikely. Just like DDR X3 vs. 2ndMIX, it will not be released outside of Asia (when I say Asia, I mean the entire continent, including Japan). So it will have to be imported. Also, there's the problem of getting it to run on the eAmusement network outside of Asia. With little, if any, support for it, it's just not going to happen. Sorry. Confused
