In my opinion small steps S-Ex. is pretty bad, here in z-I-v you can find a simfile with better steps for this song.

ps: I really like the song but no this steps (it should be a 9 not a 10)

Goddamn, after such a relative disappointment that was A (let's be real here), this game getting so much support and love of such high quality almost brings a tear to my eye. I haven't seen this much gloriousness in a DDR game since EXTREME. We're blessed.

Agreed, I think most people, even someone who's as critical and often pessimistic as me, can agree that overall (and while it IS early days) this is shaping up to be one of the best arcade DDR mixes ever, rubbing shoulders with EXTREME and X2 for me.

I would NOT call A a disappointment. It's easily a top 5 of mixes, and I personally rank it right between X2 (top) and EXTREME (third) in content. The only thing it was arguably lacking was poppy/euro songs; and the ratio of good to "less good" content was way above average. None of the songs were groaners, either.

A20 is building on that pretty well; but I still think some of the covers are hit-and-miss.

Really, I think the downfall of A was how full of filler it ended up becoming. Like those bloody Tokimeki songs that made me want to contact whoever made them and ask them to next time get some vocalists who've hit puberty. The hinabita stuff also qualifies in my opinion. A20 seems to, so far, not be putting shit in just to pad the songlist out.

Oh and Ace out is pretty cool. A lot more interesting than EDSM to me.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

"i got the eepy 24/7"
I feel like the charts for Small Step and DOWNER & UPER are a little... generic? They remind me of some charts from late DDR 2014 and early DDR A, somewhat... uninspired.

Small Step's S-Heavy is really easy. No way is it a 10, It should be rated an 8 imo.

Simple/Easy charts are fine, we don't need a complex 12-14 Heavy for every single song.

Well, I will criticize about Small Steps and DOWNER and UPPER only, because I don't like the volcaloid songs in DDR.

About Small Steps the chart is really boring. It could have added more difficulty. About DOWNER and UPPER, the chart is well done, I liked it. Well, STARDOM songs (the majority) are not high speed, because of the game essence, for this I knew this songs wouldn't be so hard.

Maybe it's just me, but DOWNER & UPPER could've benefitted from some 24th notes instead of straight 16ths in places? Either way, yeah, this mix is incredible so far! Hoping for more good stuff ^-^
PFCing a 8 is better than like, 99.99% of people in the world, right?

Yeah, it's got the swing to it, yet the chart doesn't? Weird.

But yeah, these are fine. If everything stands out, then nothing stands out, y'know?

Simple/Easy charts are fine, we don't need a complex 12-14 Heavy for every single song.

Come on, that's a terrible argument. If you want an easy chart, just play Light or Standard. Heavy charts shouldn't be that easy (it's called "EXPERT" for a reason)

sometimes, players refuse to play those difficulties, or those charts are also too bloated, and expert charts can be overstepped like start a new day HeavyChallenge so...

That's essentially an elitist mentality suggesting that specific difficulties can only have certain ranges of chart ratings and that only specific people can play at that level. We have 9s and 10s at the basic, difficult, and expert level, we have 15s at the difficult level that no one complains about but suddenly an expert 10 is added and that's out of the question.

Also it's called EXPERT because they updated the name from HEAVY, which fit the theme of difficulty names at the time.

"Not a real DJ. I make music tho."
I think most players mind more on the chart rating itself, and not about a chart labelled as "Difficult", "Expert", etc. anymore.
I don't see people fret that there are charts rated 10 and above labelled as "Basic".

Low level expert charts are fine. It's a great way to ease people into higher difficulties. Don't be elitist.

Also Small Steps is fine. It's a cute little 10 footer.
