Yea, i was looking forward to this new "announcer"...then i got the game and started playing it...i was sad =(

I mean, YES, the announcers are lame, YES, they say the most cheesiest lines since those old-school 1980 movies, and YES, they are annoying...

...let's just hope that they either:
A)have an option where you can just hear them from the splash page all the way up to when you select the song.
B)Tune down the announcer
or C) Get Ludacris to be next announcer >_> (j/k)

I don't mind the announcer, not one bit...i grew up with cheesy phrases being said, so it doesn't bother ME, however, it may bother the people AROUND me...

EDIT: Post count : 1313 (unlucky number happening twice?...*epic =O face*)

Yeah, there needs to be no announcer. I have a conspiracy theory on why they do it though...

IIDX, Pop'n, and GF/DM are all key sounded, so when you get line-outs from the Arcade, they tend to be low-quality because of this. Even auto-play lineouts sound a bit blech.

DDR just uses straight songs, so if one where to get a line-out without the announcer, it would be a pretty clean mp3. But with the announcer there, you get a relatively blech sound as well.

HMM.

Yesterday I talked to my local arcade owner, once again, and he claims that he have spoken to Konami Europe, who says that DDR X will be released on the PS3 around the time when the AC comes out, in Jan/Feb. I'm pretty sure that this guy knows what he's talking about, because he's been around for some time, and have been in contact with KE before. So this might be it, a DDR for the PS3, I'm crossing my fingers already!

That's the next venture since Silent Hill 5. I honestly don't know what to expect (thinking along the lines of ultramix).

And I thought double posts are quite impossible to do here. My supposed double post got added to my previous reply.

If that's the case, they could frequent the cheering sounds more, as well as add a variety so it doesn't get repetitive.

Also, I have to admit I love it when the X announcer goes "You're on fire!!" Smile but it's easily out-weighed by other stuff.

Official site has opened now with clear pictures of the cab.

Some changes I've noticed:

The arrows scroll up aligned better with the widescreen setup.
The SPECIAL mod is now called the SPECIAL ARROW mod.
There are now four modes, including STARTER, STANDARD, COURSE and BATTLE.

also...

"BEEJAY REVEL A"
I think Konami does this purposely to make people go nuts to try and figure what song it is. for all we know, that could be a past release songWink
also i noticed something strange when i went to the DDR X Japan site. I decided to try some URL editing and changed the real one:
http://www.konami.jp/bemani/ddr/jp/am/ddrx/index.html
to
http://www.konami.jp/bemani/ddr/en/am/ddrx/index.html

and i didn't get any error page or anything but it just didn't load for me when the un-edited one loaded fine. i find that starngeRoll Eyes

Nah, the EN gives a 404 error for me. The URL change should be from jp to na for North America and eu for Europe.

The "Music Select" in How To Play confirms a song beginning with Z. There is a Z category in the ABC order screenshot. Zero-One, maybe?

Really hard to tell, but all the difficulties are 1 for some reason.

Also I noticed there is NO explanation for the UP/DOWN buttons on the cab... maybe they've scrapped the idea or used for something else?

I assumed the highlighted item on the songwheel was a group. Hinted off by "Series Title"

Edit: Forgot that difficulties are "dimmed" when selecting a group. Also, nice notices on the Z sort and the up/down buttons.

Actually, I think LBS should be the announcer. He'd be better than what we got.

Either that, or ZERO by TERRA since it was confirmed...however it could be under R because the kanji in the song in REI (Which means zero anyways...)
