Went into Game today. There were FOUR boxes on sale for the Switch, only three being actual games, the other one being a Season Pass.
Most lethargic launch day of all time.

So yesterday I did get the Switch and so far, it's good! No problems but Super Bomberman R is somehow pretty challenging! Even on Beginner I lost multiple times due to my own placement of bombs! Also, pretty hyped for Voez on the Switch.

Seems fairly popular, but I don't expect it to start making a worthwhile profit until this Winter when more AAA exclusives and features are added.

Got to see one in convention this weekend, someone bought it right before coming and set it up on the game room with the zelda (becuase rpgs are best things to play just 5-10 minutes without context to try new things right)
it was released in 2017 and doesn't cost any noticeably less than alternatives
and it was 30 fps

Not a Nintendo fan, but being 30fps is something I couldn't give less of a shit about. It's just that it came out years too late, the Xbox and Playstation systems are already miles ahead in terms of games to play on it, and the only game anyone really gives a shit about on fucking LAUNCH DAY is Zelda.
Right now it's a paperweight and Nintendo should be changing that as soon as bloody possible.

About this part. Wikipedia calls switch part of the "9th gen" right now, but didn't the stronger versions of the previous ones come out like just recently to prolong their life with the same and expanding library? If they'll keep switch alive as long as they kept wii u, they'll end up calling this one the only "9th gen" devicePost #172 · Posted at 2017-03-06 04:48:39pm 8.2 years ago

I would consider the Switch the last 8th Gen console. I seriously can't consider something so woefully underpowered as "a generation above the Xbox One and the PS4".

Call it the Switch cause you play it once and switch back to the Gamecube

Fun fact, most issues in this is from people breaking it in one of many many ways. go to 1:50 and you will see people not being able to get the thing off the joycons... fun fact, you have to pull on the white thing so its unlock from there then you will be able to slide it out. Its great what people can do if they take the time to read the MANUAL! I have not gotten any of these issues since I got it day 1. Yes a few will be "broken" so to speak but welcome to technology. xbox one when it first came out had issues, and so did the ps4. the issue here tho was caused mostly (not every time) by the user.

To be fair, the launch for the PS4 and Xbox One weren't great either (be it the defective fan problems on the PS4, or the hubris that surrounded the Xbone because Microsoft originally wanted a "final solution to the used games question".... That, and there was that whole disc drive problem, too).
Hardware issues aside, their software lineups were pretty lackluster as well (Knack, for example, felt very barebones, and I'm honestly shocked that it's getting a sequel. Meanwhile, Forza 5 on the Xbox One was even moreso minimal in content, and the only saving grace was when they released patches that added more tracks, but even then, that game was missing a lot of features that Gran Turismo 5, a game that launched around the same time on a less powerful system, could do {rain being one of them} ).
With that being said, I do agree that I wasn't a fan of being able to count how many games were available at launch for the Switch in one hand (even less if you weren't interested in 1-2 Switch and Just Dance 2017).
I have a feeling that the bulk of the games that everyone wants to see for the Switch has not been announced yet simply because E3 isn't too far away (Maybe we'll see Pokemon "Stars", or that port of Smash 4 among others). Regardless, the trick is gonna be making sure that we're not going to simply see Super Mario Odyssey come out for the holiday season, as not having much games to play for a year and a half was what helped damage the Wii U in the long run.

Launch day failures/errors is why I don't buy consoles for the first few months they are out, like to wait until the major issues are resolved and improved versions come out. I know it's a minority of problems, but I don't want to take the chance of getting a system that is going to have a multitude of problems because the makers overlooked potential problems with easy solutions. I didn't go for the PS3 or PS4 at launch cause they were guaranteed to have issues, and the Wii/Wii U had issues as well. The stuff like dead pixels on screen and the games not working and the screen getting scratched by the dock cause it's shite plastic, that should be fixed and improved. I agree 100% that people should always read the manual to fully understand the console, especially something like the Switch since it isn't a conventionally system and there's a lot of parts to it. If Nintendo comes out with some sort of v2 Switch, i'm all for it.

Uh oh.
This doesn't sound good. I obviously didn't expect the Switch to handle a PS4-optimized game, but this is something else. 20FPS is rotten to no end.
I'm getting bad Wii U vibes from this. A lot of Wii U ports suffered like this during early launch; I hope this is just an issue with DQ Heroes and not a permeating problem with later games, too.

Gonna have to sit out on the Switch until its a proven success for Nintendo and gets a healthy dose of first and third party games. Even then I don't want to pay a subscription fee just to be able to play Splatoon or Mario Kart online, so lame.
