Still Grey is my favorite of these because Pendulum has been one of my top favorite bands over the last year and has helped me get through some pretty hard times. Though a lot of these songs bring back some memories of DDR days when I began on SuperNOVA. Kinda sad to think about.

This was a somewhat easier pick. While there were some other melodic/symphonic black metal songs on my list (and as you probably figured out, that's my favorite subgenre in metal as of now), this one has a more interesting topic, as it is based around the ghost story of the haunted "Lammendam".

According to the story, there was a maid who was murdered on her wedding day at Lammendam. The culprit was a jealous prince. And according to the remaining legacy, her castle was burned after this. And since then, her spirit has been wandering on the remaining terrain (only at night).

In other words, it's almost like a "love story gone bad" kind of topic, but it's a hell of a lot more morbid.

This was not an easy decision to make, as the two HMs and the winning song are amongst my all-time favorite songs, but "She Brakes For Rainbows" is just... It's even moreso. It's definitely in my Top 3 all-time favorite songs, no hyperbole. I love this song. I love every second of it. It makes me so happy whenever it comes on, and it never ceases to sound beautiful. I guess you could say I have a love for atmospheric music, and I'm not ashamed of it because if there's music like this out there, then I see no reason not to be in love with it. Absolutely beautiful. I know I use that word a lot, but that's one of the easiest ways I can describe this perfect tune.

Considering how not only is this my 30th installment, it's also my 1000th post overall! So I figured I'd do a little something special for you cool cats. It's only right. My favourite out of these was a little difficult to pick. It was initially between Silence, Love is Orange, and Womanizer. I went with Silence because I love the atmospheric feel of the song and Sarah's vocals match with the song really well. It gives me a nice balance of calm and energy. I can do my work to this song and not be distracted by the words or the instrumentation. It's a really nice song overall. It was also one of my favourites from the licences of Extreme 2.

And the winner became Flykten från Sverige! This song is a touching pice and also a sort of unpleasant train of thoughts. Every day we get to here about people escaping from countries wrecked by civil war, and what Loke does in this song is that he gives the listener an image of how it could be like if it happened in Sweden, through the point of view of a little child who had to flee with his family. The song clocks at over 13 minutes, and if you understand the lyrics (or swedish), it's hard not to shed a tear. Just the topic alone, which makes it hard to lose interest in the song despite its length, shows what Loke really can do as a lyricist.

This is even harder than the last one! I have to go with Always Smiling though. I literally repeated it three times before moving on to the next songs. I honestly am not too sure why exactly I love this song so much. I'm sure it's the mix of atmosphere, vocals, harmonies, and overall production of the track. It sends a wave of happiness and for some reason nostalgia headed my way. It's weird that it's nostalgic because I've never even played DDR Mario Mix. The fact that it's so damn short is literally the ONLY gripe I have about this song, and even then I just end up repeating it again... and again... so maybe it's not even a gripe. Everything else about this song is pretty perfect. I love this song.

Honorable Mentions: Here We Go Again, Heart of Sword (Remix), & Theme of Chun Li. If the original Heart of Sword would have appeared, it probably would have won over Always Smiling.
