This isn't that controversial, but still, it says a lot that there's been 4 games since and arcade operators STILL are only interested in buying the one from 2002. Although knowing the other options, most people would do that anyway.

-The Shadow is an awesome song and kors k should do more things like it.
-Tower of Saints (聖人の塔) sounds more like the final boss of LK than Dawn in the Sky (天空の夜明け).

I love Harmony Machine, Black Rose Garden, and kobo. DDR still needs more of them.

I think the Bemani Team is content to allow DDR to slowly die here. Furthermore, I don't think we're EVER gonna see MAX. (period) or PARANOiA -Respect-, besides the latter being on arcade versions.

Realizing there are some exceptions, the Ultramix/Universe series has far better charts for their licensed songs than the "main" ones do. Many even rival arcade-licensed songs in quality. Never really got into XBox systems, but I'm really sad they're not being continued. They had good taste, and made songs awesome.

I think the reason the last bundle of DDRs were lacking online play is because they don't exactly know what to DO with online play. It's just like Versus with network lag.

I kinda liked what they did (or tried to do) with Groove Trigger; and that they kept the "non-Bonus" score results intact. If only they had Marvelous timing, and a reasonably good tracklist - or at least more downloadable must-play songs.

I have no idea how DDR 2010 had two packs of "SuperNOVA Greatest Hits" that didn't include Xepher or DoLL. I mean seriously, WTF?!

New Decade is way harder than POSSESSION. For that matter, so is Anti-Matter.


EDIT: I KNOW DDR is gonna feature PonPonPon, sooner or later. Just thinking about it makes my stomach turn a little.

This. It's like they threw the SN2 interface in the sewers for two weeks. (It's funny how I hate the theme yet use it for my SM 3.9 theme)
I personally think the DJT interface was pretty good. Though the mode select music was extremely meh I must admit.

I also find IIDX Empress to be the dumbest attempt to draw in the female demographic. Aside from the drowned-in-pink interface, it was a typical IIDX release.

Emi is amazing in Supernova 1. I think that is when the obsession with her started; self included. Emi and stage 3 FTW!!!

Lady is still the "hottest" DDR dancer but since she was on the 360 games, I doubt we will ever see her in the arcade. Not sure how receptive she would be to a Japanese audience...

Yes. Slip Out (bounce in beat mix) is one of my favorite DDR songs ever.

Oh, so much this.
In fact, can I just say "Resort Anthem was the best IIDX style in recent memory" and get it over with? Everything about that style was so perfect--hardcore licenses (Breaking the Ground), amazing crossovers (SABER WING), the greatest OMES since Fascination MAXX* ...well, Almagest, but before that it was Paranoia Survivor MAX so. (Beach-Side Bunny) and an overall fantastic interface--and I'm just not sure why it gets so much hate.

On the topic of results screens, though, I really hate how they just dropped result art altogether from Lincle--barring the extra stage notification and the Tran ones between songs of an Expert course.

*Oh yeah, and Fascination MAXX in GOLD had a great chart.

They seemed lazy with graphic artwork in Lincle altogether, dropping the results screen art and it being the first style where the Cardinal Gate-esque ES system songs didn't have unique skins. And the default skin just looked like a blue tinted version of the Sirius one.

I really like Bemani for their quality of music games: DDR for various methods of dancing, beatmania for the fearful note-counts, pop 'n music for the collection of colorful buttons and animated characters, and the GFDM series for the ultimate rock experience. Too bad that IIDX and GFDM never had home versions since EMPRESS (IIDX), V3 and Rock Revolution (GFDM).

Things that make me think of the DDR beginners and starters is that they never try to do "Remember You" on unless I am by the DDR machine. All they do are like "butterfly" and "WE WILL ROCK YOU" . But if I were to see a beginner at a post-SN2 machine I would choose him/her very easy songs like "oarfish", "Under the Sky" or anything rated Lv.1-2.
