I'd say it's a mid 7.

Also, back on topic, anyone question Wild Rush? I thought it should be a 7 (or even an 8).
Low 7, maybe. The doubles chart actually is rated an 8, but feels like another mid- to low-7. It's just not as complicated as it looks

The thing that Konami did a long time ago (I think) is that they rated a lot of doubles charts higher than their single counterparts because it's effectively "harder" (you have to run all around the pad, there's no denying that doubles is harder than single)
The reason it's rated an 8 is probably just that. It's the single chart, but you have a lot more travelling to do.
And I think the single chart is such low rated because in Solo versions, there were only 8 feet. That might also be why Paranoia Evolution is only an 8 and not a 9 (and why Drop Out was an 8). It might be some comparison thing where, if it were created on the newer versions, it would be an 8. 6/8=3/4, 3/4 of 10 = 7.5, round up to an 8.
I dunno though. xD
But it seems kinda like others. Drill Instructor was kinda hard...
EDIT: After looking at Drill Instructors chart, it looks easier than I thought it was. It was just two long(ish) streams at the end that might cause an issue.
How about Kiss Me? It just looks like a really stupid chart. The only hard part that should cause a problem is the rap in the middle. I agree, it should be rated a 7, but if you understand what I'm getting at, it's just... stupid.

Kiss Me (KCP Remix)
= 7 because Konami didn't maximize the arrow density based on song.
I mean, that song taken from DanceMania Speed series.
Come on, usually song from DanceMania Speed series have a potential to become hard song.

Or possibly, I dunno, they just wanted it to be a 7. Not every 170+ BPM song has to be a 9.

Konami typically rates doubles charts based on step density, stamina required, etc. as if they were singles charts, and doesn't consider the actual 1P-2P movement. The most compensation you'll ever see is with charts like Arrabbiata D-Heavy and Trip Machine PhoeniX D-Heavy or D-Oni, where there's copious amounts of cross-pad. Then the X-rating goes up about one tick

ITG is much better about doubles ratings based on whole pad movement, but they have more to worry about (longer stretches in general, hands). PIU (especially earlier mixes) has no idea that 1P-2P movement actually makes charts harder.

No, just no. The entire second half of the song is what makes this song an 8.

The song is harder than most of the 8's you all have been complaining about.

Oh, and Stepmania's predictive song difficulty rater always does funky things.
For example, they rated Max300 and Max Unlimited 9.5's, but they rated Ska a Go Go at a 10. >_>
And all other club mix songs have awkward ratings (except Patsenner and R3). Gambol and Rugged Ash were rated 5's... :O

Yeah, it was bumped down to 15 for X2, at least as of the last I heard from a location test.

I think AM-3P Chaos special is a little harder than a 13, though I'll confess that it probably only needs one more foot. I also say this to B4U Voltage Special.

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but Ghosts from DDRMAX AC JP/DDRMAX2 US CS is definitely not an 8. I'd say it's a low 9. Not many other 8's have 16th note trills, and the ones that do (ie Witch Doctor) probably shouldn't be 8's either.

Based off of that, I think highs off u is not a 7, more like an 8Post #176 · Posted at 2010-06-04 07:44:58am 15.1 years ago

Ghosts and Highs Off U are both too chaotic for their own respective foot ratings. Both deserve a 12 on the new scale, Ghosts maybe deserving a 13 (but maybe too high).
I've always thought that some of the Club Mix songs had weird charts (Rugged Ash comes to mind, mostly). I find it weird how some of the song can get fairly difficult (jumps in streams, and longish ones) and then you have like a 20-30 second break, and then jumping into more difficulty. A similar affect happens in 5.1.1, but that's not too difficult. These issues cause misratings to come into play. I always thought that if the whole song was like the fast part Rugged Ash should be a 9, but the rest of it is too simple for that.
EDIT: The Earth Light. Seemingly too easy as an 8. Agree?

The club songs are rated weirdly in general; some of them have brutally hard
charts, especially considering that was the lowest difficulty option at that time. I've noticed a lot of the charts seem to almost mimic the beatmania charts though, in terms of rhythm, so that might be to blame for some of the strangeness. But they have a uniqueness about them that makes me love them.
THE EARTH LIGHT is probably a 7, it's just a faster IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT. Compared to other club 8's, it doesn't really add up.

The Earth Light is a tricky one because of that long stream at the end with 145 BPM.
At the time of Solo Mix DDR, Sky High (DJ Miko, not the Lucyfer version) was rated a 7. Then, at the time of DDR Party Collection I think it was, it was reduced down to a 6-footer. I think they should have kept it at a 7 because of the chaotic nature and some of the partial gallops near the end.
