Brilliant 2U has a nice Difficult chart for Balance Board.
Got my first A in BB Mode on When I Grow Up (Difficult). Well-executed chart.

Turning movies off leaves the background pitch black. Turning on the picture to replace the BG video just uses the training mode picture as the backdrop.
There are new routine animations in the game. Detroit Rock City and Disturbia for example use new animations previously unseen. The JP Wii implants from FFP all use their original HP2 animation routines. True Love Clubstar got an updated routine with HP2 animations. Pluto The First does the flying thing. There's now a take off animation though.
Modifiers are selected in much the same way as beforehand by pulling up the option menu on the songwheel, however it seems to be a little bit more streamlined now. Not to mention some important additions were finally put into the game.
I've also noticed, and this is probably completely due to PS2 and Wii sharing charts, but HP FINALLY has support for all the arcade note types. This is readily apparent with HP and HP2 nonstop megamixes, as some of the older charts with funny timings have been fixed. Unfortunately, I can't say that for Pluto The First...
Youtube is pissing me off right now, as there's several videos I want to put up there but for whatever reason it refuses to finish uploading the bastards. AAAARGH!

More Balance Board impressions:
Calle Ocho = Another great Difficult chart. Got an A.
True Love = Pretty good. A'd it on my first go.

Awesome! It seems like with each game, the routines are getting more complex and unique!
I notice on A Brighter Day's routine, for example, they do a kind of "Rock Out!" symbol with their hands.

Just tried HP1 on Balance Board. Very tricky. Touchin' still annoys me... Blech.
1998, SUPER SAMURAI, Hold Tight and one other one (Confession?) have some of the best portions of the chart. Got a B.
BTW, lol at the names of the new backup dancers:
Girl 1: Bossa
Girl 2: Nova
Boy 1: Hip
Boy 2: Hop
XD
KP Basic is kinda fun.
That's enough for today. Shouldn't have even played.

I actually wish most of the licenses didn't have there BG videos and instead had routines. The compression on the videos isn't very good, it is even apparent on the opening cinematic. I'm not sure if it wold be different on a standard def tv or not, but its very pixelated. I also wish you could overscan/strech the videos to fit widescreen tvs, they look so small, stuck in the middle, otherwise. Even with this folly, I really enjoy the interface of this game.
I think tomorrow I'll spend some time trying to get some more unlocks.
I wouldn't consider this game a winner of X2 also. They are both different games. This one seems to cater more to the casual crowd than X2 does, mainly because X2 has more KOs (repeats and previous game crossovers). If future HP games get edit modes, courses, challenge charts, and doubles, then I think it would be the clear winner.

I've noticed at least with my setup that playing the game in widescreen mode tends to pixellate the videos a bit. If I keep it 4:3, the videos look better. That's more than likely a product of cutting a video down into a 4:3 space when the display is set to anamorphic widescreen. It honestly makes me wonder why they just didn't make the movies widescreen in the first place.

Yeah, pixelating first became apparent to me at the start of Closer.
It's too bad I can't see actual routines. Would much prefer that over BG's on some of these.

Two new videos coming up. I've split the complete songlist video up into two parts. Part one is all the licenses and some of the KO's. Part 2 is the rest of the KOs along with the showing of this years courses and some of the new options available. I'm also going to be giving my own thoughts on this years game as well as I reluctantly did with DDR Disney Grooves. Don't worry, it's FAR more glowing though I do have my issues with this years title in some places too.
Oh, and noob, if it hasn't been done already I'll get Detroit Rock City up today. Youtube is cooperating with me for the moment.

What the--?! I just did Brilliant 2U on Difficult. Full Combo, 0 Greats/Good/Miss/OK/NG and no AAA? What gives?

I'm not sure if you paid any attention to it, but I was about to say to look at your combo counter during gameplay. If it's anything but gold at the end, you screwed something up. Like DDRX AC it changes color from gold, to green if you get a great and from any color to white if you miss at all.
Otherwise, I don't believe that mode has separate requirements per song since so far I've been able to AAA on hyper move mode with no problems.

But what could I have possibly missed if I got everything right acc. to the results screen? Anyway, I took a vid of it so when I upload you'll see for yourself. I get what you're saying about the counter though. Also the CROWNS signify if you got a FULL COMBO or a PERFECT FULL COMBO (green and Gold, respectively).

BTW guys, I forgot to mention before that for Workout Mode, they added a nice little touch by being able to measure your weight with the BB instead of manually inputting it if you so choose to.

That's a very welcome addition, and yet at the same time with support for it, it's a no brainer.
FINALLY got the final songlist videos up. It's in two parts, one shows the licenses and a few KOs, the second shows the rest of the KOs along with some of the new menus and courses. Once again, beware the Kamikaze Princess!

woah, under the graphics section in the options menu, there was something about setting the backgrounds to pictures rather than movies?FINALLY got the final songlist videos up. We touched on this earlier, e-s-g. It just shows the Training Mode picture.
darknight, got some vids uploading right now including the one with the AAA issue mentioned above.
edit:
Here's what I was talking about:
Here's a vid (more coming) of my very first try with the BB Mode:
Here's a vid showing the Weight check in Workout Mode with the Balance Board (still processing).

No, selecting picture simply replaces the BG video with a static picture. Turning it off just shows a pitch black background.
