length of the songs comes in because with charts like RTTH you wont get as tired at 2:00 as you would half way through the long as string of reds in the RB DLC version(possibly the cover in RB1 as well, but i'm not familiar with that chart).
I'm familiar with it. It hurts.

@ al2k4: Hmmmm you may be right, i've seen GH:WT and GH3 on the PS2 and PS3, and boy do the graphics look half-assed on the PS2 version XD.

Basically the graphics are almost exactly the same as the next-gen, but not that "well".

As a matter of fact, Here is the Nintendo Wii version of the game.

@ n00b: Yeah...i can agree.

I would also like to give Scratch a try, I've seen videos of gameplay and that game actually gives you A LOT more freedom in terms of scratching and putting samples on there. For example, in DJH, you only follow the scratch patterns of what was already created where as in Scratch, you can do whatever kinds of scratches you want, and the cross fader is spring loaded, meaning you can switch it back and forth and it will spring back to the center....or so i think >_>.

...and it looks pretty damn hard when you get to it's hardest difficulty. O.o

Usually, from what I've observed over the years, the GH games for the PS2 and Wii are graphically similar to each other, as are the PS3 and 360 versions. I can assume the PS2 version would look similar to the Wii version here.

They should have put this in DJ Hero...

Probably makes biggie roll over in his grave though.

I finally got to play DJ Hero (PS3 demo at Best Buy)...It was surprisingly easy, not in a good way mind you. It felt too slow IMO. Plus, the buttons were alittle off sync.//

It's nice but not what I was expecting...Cry//

With the way the economy is now, I wouldn't be surprised if this game drops in price quickly. I could see it going to about 79.99-89.99 soon after christmas.

I don't know if this has been posted yet too, but it looks like theres going to be a David Guetta DLC pack on launch...

is that the name of the 5 button GF? i dont think i'll have to, i already said the new GF might just blow GH and RB out of the water in difficulty for nothing more than no HO/PO system. if they have satch boogie or TTFAF like patterns in there at those same speeds that cant be tapped, it will be harder.

i know the new DM is also adding 2 pads, which will only take so long to learn. still the stamina and bass issues come in here and RB and GH will still have the edge, DM will just have the harder learning curve while GH and RB will still be harder to get through tougher songs without getting tired.

@ Toon: Did you try Medium? even Hard? As the difficulty goes up, the scroll goes faster. As for the syncing, they probably didn't sync the TV with the game. Trust me Toon, when i was playing, the buttons were on sync and it was just pure fun to play Big Grin

@ al: I don't blame you, you could save A LOT of money if you wait until Christmas time Tongue

@ GoshaDole: Yeah i knew about that, not sure if i posted it onto this thread though...but eh, it's good to know Smile

Oh i forgot to mention, i found out what the free DLC mixes you will get if you pre-order the game from Gamestop, they are:

Public Enemy "Can't Trust It" vs Gorillaz "Dare
50 Cent/Mary J Blige "All of Me" vs Queen "Radio Ga Ga"

Nice Smile

On my first try, I played on Hard...it was slow IMHO. I like the game don't get me wrong, it was just slow to play to me.//

Don't forget that GF also has open notes, which now appear to be part of Expert charts rather you like it or not (instead of being its own mode with separate charts per difficulty.)

I have to admit, stamina for playing drums isn't and issue for me, so with 4 dinky pads doing looooooooooong rolls on the same pad would be boring as hell.

if thats the case, playing drums would be boring as hell for you. like it or not, the long run of reds in RTTH expert is charted according to whats played, and if drum mania charted it differently you might play every note but the chart wouldnt be very accurate to the drums. they chart the snare to one pad, tom to another, high hat to another, and crash symbol to another. granted your standard drum kit has more than 4 pieces(5 with the bass pedal) but RB charts accurately(except for double bass). your statement saying "would be" leads me to believe you dont play drums on RB, correct? check out science genius girl expert, since its not a real drum kit being used they took liberties with the chart, maybe its what you're expecting everything to look like to avoid getting "boring"?

I played it at best buy yesterday.

The "vinyl" is so close to the "crossfader." The crossfader on a real mixer is expose to feel like butter. But this has only 3 modes: left, middle, right. Got used to it and think this game it gonna be fun.

Yeah, since it has no real "freedom" your only exposed to left, center, and right for the crossfader.

But it just takes getting used to so no big deal really Tongue

4 days, 2 hours, and 56 minutes until the game comes out in America, 7 days for Europe.

Yeah, which i find funny that the studio (FreeStyleGames) originates in the UK and they get the game three days after America does?

I swear, Europe must be cursed with release dates for games, it must suck Sad.

P.S. Here is one out of three of the hardest songs on DJ Hero:

...oh yeah, this tired my right hand when it got to the end (imaginary turntable FTW) XD

After seeing that video, I think I'm gonna cancel my reserve...thank you very much.

No I'm just kidding. Of course I own IIDX and I can't clear any 12s. It'll be quite a challenge taking on the sets presented in DJ Hero. I'm looking forward to the DLCs.

So do you know of any real dj hardware that has BUTTONS on the TURNTABLE? Neutral
