STULTI

So for this event we got one 11, one 12, two 13s, two 14s, one 15, two 16s and one 17. Definitely leaning hard, and this is assuming none of these have CHALLENGE charts.

EDIT:

For whatever reason Elemental Creation seems to be unlocked normally and is not an extra stage, so why it was even set as an extra stage in local mode, I have no idea.

EDIT2:

STULTI audio lineout

Hahahaha the cover art. xP I know anime sells at least for gamers, but it's like they're caressing a cardboard cutout. The girl's face could've been a little less cutesy for the pose, maybe, and it would've looked more fitting. That's just me being a critical art person, though...

That song is beautifuulll. :3

It sounds great and I'm really hyped to play it for myself. Razorblade seems to be turning these into Stepmania files incredibly fast, and we already have an announcer-less line out recording, and the official jacket o.O

The DDR 2013 turnaround on songs being released in Japan to being fully playable to non-Japanese players is absolutely amazing.

Wow, lots of surprises all around! Another Phase has a great chart, sweet art, and sounds good! The BEMANI Gakuen songs have some very interesting ratings and Synergy For Angels gets off to a great start! Looking forward to seeing the rest!

Can't wait to see STULTI; it sounds totally awesome!

If it's done right, Dubstep is fine. But even though Drum & Bass is its progenitor, D&B has been largely forgotten these days. Kudos to the talent at Konami for remembering.

Even breakbeat a la MGS2 Mission R, betwixt the two chronologically, is sorely missed.

I still love my happy hardcore though.

Isn't there a good bit of DnB in recent IIDXs?

Also yes, breakbeat/bigbeat is criminally underdone nowadays.

Neutral

There were already 2 songs that could be classified as DnB in DDR 2013 alone; nightbird lost wing and Straight Oath.

Empathetic isn't even drum & bass anyway. It's actually been given the genre "Drumstep" in IIDX, which is a legitimate genre: a hybrid between that and dubstep.

yeah ok

I had to listen to both of those songs again because you made me think I had totally forgotten what they sounded like. It turns out I was not going crazy. Those songs are not even close to Drum & Bass, it takes more than simply having drums and bass in a song for it to be D&B. It's a unique style... though it is pretty broad, and covers a number of sub-genres including the ones Oni mentioned.

I recommend checking out some Dieselboy, or Asian Dub Foundation, or Blu Mar Ten (Who's been in DDR before), or... EMPATHETIC. Wink
