Well, all Asian cabinets are still in Japanese language anyway. And we have a mixture of Asian DDR Xs, Japanese DDR Xs, Asian DDR X2 and Japanese DDR X2. So no big deal for us.

We still assume we can get it but the question is when. I'm sure it's early next year though.

It's the beginner 2nd-player-trial-through-p1's-credit thing that's been there since DDRX2, I believe.

I think the warning screen is a bit different for Asian versions. It states that it can be played in Asia (except Japan), New Zealand and Australia. I assume the Japanese version will just say that it is for Japan only.

And my god, I hope BMIGaming isn't right about that. They could still look for a new distributor (if it means that Konami terminated Betson's contract), could they?

EDIT: According to dancervic, in the DDR arcade games of old, Asian versions were typically deemed as inferior (fewer songs). Most people are familiar with 3rd Mix, but there is one for 4th Mix as well.

I have recieved word from Bemani Wiki that there are a few rating changes.

MAXX UNLIMITED ESP is now a 16.

PARANOiA Survivor ESP is now a 15. (FINALLY!)

B4U (VOLTAGE SPECIAL) SINGLES is now a 14. (Could've been a 15, but I'll take it.)

PARANOiA ~HADES~ DSP was bumped up to a 15 AND ESP was FINALLY bumped up to a 16!

And last, but most certainly not least, Pluto Relinquish DSP was bumped up to a 14.

Maxx Unlimited and PARANOiA Survivor- NO.
B4U and Pluto Relinquish- meh
PARANOiA HADES - It's about damn time.

Also, I see Sakura Sunrise wasn't changed to a 15 after all. That's good.

I hope we start seeing some surprise unlocks soon. Like how X2 surprised us with songs like Poseidon Kors K mix.

I wish they made the combo #'s even bigger. It's not big enough, I can still see some of the arrows. The rating changes are fine I think.

They should have just called this what it is so far, DDR X2.5

Duck/Chicken Mode? I'm surprised it only got recognized today. It's been in the games starting with DDR X and IIRC, it was a requirement for either Anti-Matter or New Decade to show up on RDA.

X2 instructions

1. Select Single Play
2. Hover on Music Play
3. On the P2 pad (or the one you are not using), press Down twice. If done correctly, the "choose" sound effect will play.
4. Select Music play.

Press Up on the pad twice on step 2 to cancel Chicken mode.

The Chicken/Duck can only play the Beginner difficulty and is unable to choose any options. Speed mods can be set while on gameplay screen. At the end of the 1st stage, on the chicken side, an Afro face appears with some text (I think it means "Thanks for trying out the game. Play it normally next time."). Playing an edit data or a challenge-only song will add the Cut mod.

And the Chicken/Duck can only play on the 1st stage.

Ugh..
OCTOBER 2011 - KONAMI FACTORY HAS CONFIRMED THAT ALL FUTURE DDR DANCE ARCADE MACHINES WILL
BE PRODUCED IN JAPANESE LANGUAGE VERSIONS ONLY, AND WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLY FOR SALE IN JAPAN.

THEREFORE, DDR X3 & FUTURE DDR MACHINES ARE PERMANENTLY DISCONTINUED AND NO LONGER AVAILABLE

http://www.bmigaming.com/dancedancerevolution.htm
Seriously guys, stop posting this shit from BMI. THEY ARE NOT the distributor for American machines. Betson and/or Konami has not stated whether they will be releasing/distributing DDR X3 in America. In fact BMI listed DDR X2 as unavailable and no longer produced, when it in fact is. Betson is advertising DDR X2 at IAAPA right now and is still ditributing machines. Let's not forget that BMI falsely listed GFdmXG (and XG2) as being released in America and for sale at one point as well, when it never has been or probably never will be.

How does it work?

At the "mode select" screen (i.e. music or course), you press down twice repeatedly and the second pad is activated for one song. The "trial mode" only plays on beginner (or challenge for challenge-only songs) with no mod selection and cut1 enabled - only 4th notes. (in DDR X you could still play full challenge charts and edits without any notes cut)

It's a cheap way to try getting newbies into DDR, but at least it doesn't cost anything extra. It can also be useful as survival insurance, especially for Chaos where it's impossible to fail in trial mode.

Doesn't work out so well with Betson X2 cabinets, where you get the 2nd player giving you pad shit since their movements trigger sensors on the other side of the pad. So I doubt anyone over here would ever consider it as "survival insurance", regardless of the play level of who's doing the thinking.

Yeah. After 2 hours of info jumping, BMI info is/highly seems WRONG. Most sites I see have the slated Q2 2012 release US/EU. Dated from 11/16/2011. So really there's no confirmation for or against it. I have also tried to email Konami about it. Or at least I think I emailed the right site. :/
