I'm most likely going to get the PS2 and the Wii versions, but if this XBOX 360 deal comes through for me...

Curious question: if octo-mode uses two pads will the relevant steps be put into Doubles charts and the PS2 (or possibly Wii) charts be used for standard mode? I ask this because it's likely the PS2 version will feature it's own set of Doubles charts which could be different from the 360/PS3 octo-mode ones so I guess my questions is which would be used over the other?
My understanding is that octomode normally only uses one pad. Trying to make an octomode singles chart a standard doubles chart would just be begging for a terrible chart in one playmode. They might make octomode doubles though, 8 arrows on each pad, 16 total. They've already shown they're not shy about using tiny arrows with the Wii 4-player mode, so I don't see any reason why they couldn't handle octo doubles or octo versus the same way.If I had say, $10K saved up, I'd probably get a PS3 and the PS3 version to try out octomode, and see how they handle it.

Oh yeah, octo-mode uses diagonal arrows doesn't it? Sorry I must have been having a blond moment, please ignore me.

I'm still debating about which verison to get. I might wait a day after it comes out to decide between PS3/360. With the 360 verison, I already have pads from the Universe games. I can also get Microsoft point deals more frequently than PSN point cards, which is good for the 150+ dlc songs they have coming.
The PS3 version will have free online play, which is a big thing it has over the 360 version. I'm sure the engines will be identical. With the Sony Motion controller coming too, I could see future versions of the PS3 version incorporating hand markers, like the Wii DDRs.
I think I'll pass on the PS2 verision though, mainly due to the lack of DLC feature, plus the PS2 mixes tend to not run well on LCD HDTVs, same with the Wii versions. I'm hoping the 360/PS3 versions have timing features for HDTV support.

My deal with the 360 version is will the framerate stay constant at 60fps? We all know the deal with the UNIVERSE games.Post #1667 · Posted at 2009-06-26 09:30:55am 16.1 years ago

Hi. My LCD 1920x1200 monitor would like a word with you.Works quite well with PS2 and Wii versions.
I guess TVs just suck and apply unnecessary post processing that can't be turned off.

Looks like they're showcasing the game at some golf thing for Big Brothers/Sisters of America

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., announces that Karaoke Revolution and DanceDanceRevolution will take center stage at this year's Miami hotspot for the annual DJ Irie hosted celebrity golf tournament. Konami and Best Buy partner to sponsor the 5th Annual Irie Weekend, which includes a celebrity golf tournament, star-studded benefit dinner, and more. Proceeds will be used to help combat childhood obesity and raise funds for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Miami. Attending celebrities and members of Big Brothers/Big Sisters - including chapter President and CEO, Lydia Muniz -- will show off their dancing skills by playing the latest DanceDanceRevolution game right before the Tee-off at 1 p.m. Celebrities and guests will also have the chance to sing their hearts out at the Karaoke Revolution sponsored hole, featured on the golf course.

I should have kept on reading instead of stopping at "Miami"
It's already happening as it's already one over here. And we have work today.

But that is strange though, wouldn't expect Konami to bring out their newest games on an event like that
