I don't blame you for not seeing it, konami.jp did not even post the site on their front page.

Also FUCK THAT COMBO.
They should make it BIGGER cause' i still barely see the arrows >.>
Now that you mention it, the combo is way too big. Also hasn't the JP versions of DDR games always had the combo behind the arrows? (Like it should beAnnoyed)

Also Mermaid Girl's Challenge is ruined by the shock arrows. Roll Eyes

This mix I think can get good, like I said before, you have to keep in mind that Japan has never seen ANY of the DDR or DDR II songs. To think this is all new stuff. I think the US people are disappointed because we've seen 90% of the default list already.

You can set whether the combo appears in front or behind via e-AMUSEMENT, something that we will never be able to set unfortunately...

I think they've gotten a lot better at using Shock Arrows effectively. That chart works.

People's disappointment I think stems also from only 6 licenses, and DDR I songs being unlockable, because DDR I songs generally have tripe for steps. DDR II songs are fine, the steps are much better, but they still are noticeably not as good as the AC exclusive steps, which so far have been great. Game has a long way to go in terms of surprises though, I'm sure, so I trust we're getting all the CS stuff out of the way before getting into the real meat. Tongue

What the hell are you talking about, it's the first shock arrow chart that actually uses the "go back to the center panel as another mandatory step" gimmick in a flawless way that "makes sense" with the music too. It's the best of the new stuff I've seen so far. I'm not terribly disappointed since we are used to weak-ass song lists on day one, but we are also used to see it get a lot better in the following weeks/months. What disappoints me the most is that the new licenses are ENTIRELY and ONLY for the japanese audiences, which further fuels that nasty rumor about DDRX3 not being brought outside Japan/Asia, putting the final nail in DDRACs coffin in America/Europe...not that it bothers me really, since I haven't even seen X2 around here. Which doesn't really matter either since the new american cabinets are horseshit.

Also on the earlier Unbelievable (sparky remix) debate, stop the hate please. You just need to get better at the game, plain and simple. Go back to Extreme for all your formulaic boss song needs. I honestly think it's one of the best songs EVER produced for a DDR game since the SuperNOVA era until today, an instant modern classic. It feels a lot like something straight from Dancemania Speed, which is AWESOME in my book.

EDIT - sdklghakjsfghkasjgn;jsgnask NEKOMATA MASTER IN DDR HOLY SHIT

Three games now and they haven't done anything legitimate with them. When Freeze Arrows came out they were not a gimmick, they were a feature. They were integrated into the stepcharts and permeated all the difficulty levels. If they'd take the same care with Shock Arrows people might like them.

With the way they're handling shock arrows at the moment, I think it's better to abolish them than to carry on using them IMO.

^ Sadly, if given a choice to remove them or leave them in as they are I would have to agree. You'd think a gimmick meant for the Japanese audience would have been better thought out.

My opinion about the game thus far, though it's VERY cool that the game was just released, nothing so far has screamed that it's something that i would want to replace X2 with YET, just going to have to wait until the "OMGHOLYFUCKINGTITS" factor kicks in when December/2012 starts.

Almentagation or whatever the ES song is doesn't...seem...hard for a 14 :/

Programmed Universe is tight, love that bit of dubstep in the middle of the song Puppy Face

DDR is dead.
Not even sure if it's trolling since Konami disappointed me so hard with DDR.

I wasn't trolling.

DDR Is Dead to me, at least, for now.

thank GOD someone else said it, I love the chart as well, the only problem i have with it is it isnt consistent all the way through, also i loved Silver Dream too but i WILL be honest and say i thought Crazy Love was terrible there is a difference between them Tongue

Also having watched 2nd mix mode now theres only two niggling problems that bothered me, 1) the NEW announcer still crops up every now and again... running out of time being one of the situations. 2) Is it just me or are the dancing characters on the screen for a very little amount of time? I never played 2nd mix in the arcades but i did play DS1 and 1.5 and i remember the dancers being there all the time but this was over a decade ago now...

Well, when there is garbage that we don't like, there is an option for us to not play it.

yea like heres the thing people arent getting

when there is a song and or chart that is universally liked, pretty much means the song and or chart is pretty good.

when there is hate, there is usually something wrong with it

so

opinions except the chart actually isnt good.

EDIT: also idk the name of the male jp band with the shock arrows but its pretty much the best thinking they have done with it. they need to be more creative. otherwise its useless.

Amalgamation, while it should be rated a 13 instead of a 14, gives me high hopes for the charts of this game being the same quality as most of X2s.

Arcade DDRs may be dead in North America, but we get to look forward to most of these songs (hopefully) appearing on whatever the next CS release is.

Well, when there is garbage that we don't like, there is an option for us to not play it.

Yeah, but some people also exercise their "option" to shit up every thread it's mentioned in, to tell us how it's "garbage" or "unplayable", even though there are obviously people who AA'd it on their first attempt, and people who find it more fun than any of the other boss songs on offer right now. It's hard and it's unique, and you either love it, or you hate it. We've known that for over a month now.

We already know who loves it and we know who hates it. With Bemanistyle down, and most of the english Bemani scene flocking to our forum to read up on the game and watch videos, it's just embarassing to see people still trying to shove their opinions across the table, and then making childish blanket statements, and backing them up with posts that consist of nothing but "hilarious" images, like this is a Geocities kids forum, or something.
