EXTREME came out before MAX 2 US...
But the ridiculous number of unnecessary bg vid changes for returning songs on 7th mix was a let down...since I grew up on DDR with 7th mix.

Something I caught because I was bored when playing Dance Wars:
When you go to Free Play, and instead of choosing a song, go to Random, if you listen closely you can hear some dialogue from people, one of the guys responds with a sentence including the word 'fuckin''.

DDRMAX for the US PS2 and DDRMAX -Dance Dance Revolution 6thMIX- original Japanese arcade release are not the same.

Ohhh. Then i learn something new today. i always thought the Jpn DDR released with the US. DDR just with different song's.
