Kinda being picky on rather what songs be in this game. Where are my anime licenses? They practically sat on GOLD with Railgun so why can't they grab the theme song to something new? NO. GO AWAY SAO. Also, considering that for some odd reason half the anime community still holds strong to DDR's legacy it wouldn't hurt to throw in something from a newer anime like INSIDE IDENTITY from Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! Course, those licenses are expensive as hell so it's more or less wishful thinking.

No EES? That's a bit disheartening. What are the requirements for extra stage at the moment? And do you think that will change too, perhaps unique requirements every few updates?

yet. though it's possible there won't be any EES at all. but that'll be weird I guess to suddenly ditch that, yet I think IIDX kinda ditched OMES on tricoro right? Lincle still had OMES (2 even).

Requirement for ES right now is same as X3: get 9 stars. The only difference is that you can't get red stars anymore (which is obtainable if you play songs above a certain level. It's tied to your GROOVE RADAR level). That, and the difficulty of Monkey Business you can play depends on the total difficulty you played on that credit. requires (13 x num of stages) + 1.

Crazy thought:

What if there is an EES already on the machine and the requirement to access it simply isn't attainable due to a technicality?

To get Monkey Business to unlock, and assuming the machine is set to three songs, you have to play a 13, a 13, and a 14. to access . For the lower charts you just have to beat that chart's level with your average by one (10,10,11 = , etc.).

What if the EES requires you to overtake its difficulty just to make the song appear at all, and requires that Monkey Business be your Extra Stage... and its chart is, say, a 16? Impossible to do. Even if you played 19,19,19,13, the game would average your normal stages together then average that number against the ES, you'd be a single point short... unless Monkey Business has a chart that just hasn't been unlocked yet.

Not much of a stretch since there's good reason to believe that at least one other song still has a hidden chart.

This theory is backed up by nothing, it's just a thought.

if not then could one instead play any other 16-18 for ES to theoretically (and hopefully) unlock EES?

The idea is that you have to play the ES to move on to EES, just like, I think, every other DDR mix that has the Extra Stage system. My hypothesis tries to follow rules that are in use or have been used before. But then again, Banana Money might be all there really is.

DDR had a software update today and one player claims to have gotten this to reveal itself on EXTRA STAGE.



No clue about the authenticity yet, but many on Twitter seem to be treating it as real. No one else has gotten it to come out yet and speculation is that (if true) it may be an accidental leak from the BEMANI Gakuen event. Though a taka/YOSHITAKA collab wasn't announced, they were hosting the UStream event where the collaborations were announced and it certainly seemed unusual for neither of them to be participating.

The image used for the jacket doesn't seem to match any known pictures/videos of YOSHITAKA, so that lends some credibility to it, but for now it's still in the undetermined category.

Oh god, I suddenly feel spoiled for Bemani Gakuen (there is a really really high chance that it was intended to be the final boss of this event). Most of the people on Twitter think so as well...

This apparently only came out as the machine somehow went offline in the middle of play. Other players have confirmed that Monkey Business remains the only ES in normal play.

Hope this new collab bewteen TAKA and YOSHITAKA is real.

Something I've been curious about for a while...



I'm trying to wrap my head around the diagonal tearing in the black text. How is that a thing? Some graphics throughout the game also have this visual anomaly.

It just pains me to see this game continue to suffer from issues. What the hell is going on at KONAMI? Does anyone test anything over there? They need to issue some apology to both the fans and other BEMANI teams for all this bullshit.

My only guess is with the graphic issues is they only tested it for the new cabs and did not test it for the older cabs with smaller screens.

I took that picture on a white cabinet.

My guess is the newer machines are running on a different set of hardware specs which the software cannot properly run on. If that is the actual issue, it may be difficult to fix that without a major overhaul of a sort.
