Got back from the arcade about, uh, 4 hours ago, but it's my brothers birthday party still, so I haven't decided to upload stuff until about now. I've already uploaded pictures, and I think I put scores into the Score Tracker Evidence, so they should be up. I also have a couple of videos too, if I could upload those and use them as proof, then I will (please tell me if I can).

ro tourney today.By which I mean, 5 other people showed up, and the organizer joined the tourney. Then he left it on free play for us all day, and people left, so I played some pump doubles and worked up to passing 6s on pump doubles. And one 7.

I'm not being modest, but you're better than me. You have AAAs under your belt and they're done on pad. I have yet to achieve a AAA in stepmania and I don't think I ever will.
As for AC..... fuck AC as I have no proper experience playing on the arcade pads. Luckily my job has a DDREXTREME but the pads are utter crap. It took me a few back-to-back plays to truly assess the condition of the pads. I usually get Cs and Ds when playing at the arcade. Goes to show you how skilled I am on metal pads. I emphasize metal pads as I have only played on foam pads. I also learned that jeans is not good attire to play DDR doubles. So much weight on me. -_-
And I haven't forgotten the Turn Me On video that you want from me. School and work will be occupying me for the most part and as I said earlier, I do grocery shopping on Mondays and I have an appointment on Tuesday.
That must have been fun to play PIU the whole day. I wish I could, but I don't know how to access Doubles. :c THe menu is to weird for me to grasp right away. The songs are awesome though.

Just hit whatever you do to select your difficulty until it says "Freestyle" or "Nightmare" or "Half-double", then pick a song with a foot rating you're comfortable with. I have yet to try half-double. If you're not aware, that's the mode that just uses the center 6 panels. I need to work on not getting lost when I'm on the center 6 panels.
One downside: I played some ITG singles when I got home. On one song, my feet started hitting the corners and center panel, instead of the arrows.

Occasionally I go to a movie theater that has a DDR EXTREME AC that doesn't suck (sorry silent)! But yeah, I've only played it twice though because I never noticed it before for some reason. The first time I think I got a B on La Bamba (Mexican Folk Song version) and the second time I think was an A for La Copa de la Vida.

It's a combination of pad misses and timing. P1 left arrow and P2 up arrow were broken today; I saw the kids breaking them. I noticed this when I played after them. The other pads are flat but those two feel like a small crater and I have to stomp in order for them to register. I have been meaning to talk to you about the timing in stepmania so that I can adjust it to somewhere where it's close to the AC's timing.
I have a question for you. Are the pads slippery on the EXTREME cabinet that you play on? I found myself slipping when playing on my first stage and after the song ended I decided to slide from one side to the other, and I did, with hardly any traction stopping me.

I'm familiar with the difficulty scale going into the 20s but it's not rated like DDR's 1-10 scale. So all I gotta do is select Nightmare, Freestlye then? Shouldn't be that hard to grasp then. Half-Double seems like a fun and good idea to get people to learn how to play doubles. Teaches people how to switch from one pad to the other.

That was one factor I was thinking of. I'm not able to test that one out though as that's my only pair of shoes. The rest are slip resistant boots.

Windex/water
paper towel
apply water/windex to bottom of shoe
rub shoe on floor if carpet. use paper towels if hard floor
wipe pads
take better care of your machines. god damn. It pisses me off when people leave the pads with a layer of dirt on the pads.
They're less slippery when they're dirty.
Then you obviously don't know what you're doing.

@Kynayo: Science my boy!!! Best to eliminate all possible causes before coming to a conclusion!
I'll try the Windex tomorrow. I don't really feel like trying the slip resistant boots. Unfortunately, I'm not in charge of maintaining that machine. All I can do is tell people to get off if they're just sitting there. At least no one leaves a layer of dirt on it though. People only play one song (Graduation) and play something else. So that's 4 free songs for me!... or for someone else that sees the free game.

I play in socks, even at the arcade, which kinda changes it. If the pads are kept clean enough, then slipping shouldn't be a problem. But when dirt gets on them, it makes them slick.Quote

Pick Freestyle, as it's the easier difficulty. I don't know the conversion for the version of Pump that uses the 1-20 scale, since Pro uses the ITG scale. I'm pretty sure a Pump 25 is an ITG 14, so a 9 might be a 12 on Pump. For your first few doubles, pick a 3 or so, and step up every couple stages until it's stressful. Be wary though, as I've heard that there are some random charts that are 2-3 ratings away from what they should be, more frequently than in DDR.Journey To Thor simfile video.
Tell me what you guys think. I'll finish the chart and release it some time in the next few days. I think it'll be an ITG 11, maybe 12.
Oh yeah, for syncing stepmania. Pick something very simple, like Holic singles. Before the arrows start coming up, hit F6 twice, so that it says, "Sync Machine". Then play the song, doing your best to follow the beat. Afterwards, it should tell you what it's changing the global offset to. Do it a few times with the same song, until it's changing the offset by very little. This will sync your stepmania to that song, which means that anything synced by the same person that synced that song should be on for you. Other sim artists have a tendency to use different offsets for syncing, so you may end up resyncing when changing step artists. For most of the sims on this site, synce to something synced by Brazen, as he did a lot of the syncing for the recent stuff.
I'm not a sync master though, as I can't even 99 anything, not even on PIU

Just kidding, but when ever I wipe my shoes on the carpet beside the machine, it doesn't really do much, and it makes it more slippery. I need to take a couple of songs to get used to the pad then (Never try MAX300 with slippery conditions, you will most likely fall, and be laughed at...).
There's an ITG2 machine out by the beach, and it's VERY slippery there, and we do exactly that: apply water/windex to bottom of shoe, rub shoe on floor if carpet. use paper towels if hard floor, wipe pads.
