Well, I remember you saying that you're going on the 10th, but I think someone else mentioned they were going on Saturday
.
is this the one where konami's supposedly gonna show the game?
Well, it's not "supposedly", Konami's actually said they're going to show the games at these certain Linkin Park concerts.

Which is the best part for Linkin' Park? Even I don't like his rock style very much
. I prefer Mitsuhiko Izumi or Jimmy Weckl because their rock style is enjoy to hearing.

Is the one you're going to listed there? If so, then they should be showcasing it there.

i still don't understand why konami can't just give us updates ( trailors, default song list, etc) online while they display the game at the concerts.

Well they said there's one in Cleveland, if I'm still on vacation, I can go there to check it out (plus my sis would be in college so I can see her or tell her to give me info
)

there trying to keep it a huge secret so people will buy it when it actually is released, also you gotta figure that they haven't even finished the PS2 game yet. My brother went to a game convention and asked them, when do games actually finish before the release. And he said about a month before the release, after that, then they make tons of copies.
Also, I don't care if they don't give us any new trailers or information as long as the game comes out I'll be happy
So just wait ok?

Simple...patience is a virtue. Just wait it out until (my guess) the end of the month, when they announce the game has gone gold**Going gold = when a game is completed (programming and such), the game is then sent to manufacturing.

The thing is, I won't know if I want it until the whole list is blown, since I'm not convinced this isn't just a half-baked SuperNOVA2.5, rushed out the door to meet the annual September deadline, while the real X is still in development. Well, I'll be interested in the license list, so here's to hoping for that sometime in August.
But that's just me.

This doesn't feel rushed, they've been planning this for a while I believe. They timed the release to just over a month before DDR's birthday. And every single subsidiary of Konami that even does DDR games is working on this, I imagine the combined firepower is getting stuff done with a purpose.

Something tells me this will be better than your average american cs, just a feeling, hopefully becomes a reality
And then of course the jp cs will be the greatest home ddr to ever exist

I love it when people use the term "SuperNOVA 2.5." Last I checked, there is a SuperNOVA 2 and there isn't a SuperNOVA 3, so SuperNOVA 2.5 is kind of a nonsense term. Okay I lied, I hate it when people use the term SuperNOVA 2.5.
Why even think this game will be any different? For better or for worse, this will be the same type of game as every game since MAX. Thinking otherwise is naive, stupid, and a waste of time.

Since the release date for USA and Japan very close, why for almost songs both of them have around 99% same, just like DDR HP before. So, we have at least 99% Japanese licensed or Konamia originals while the other for Japan exclusive only.

I'm interested in the license list myself, but I'm somewhat convinced this will be structured similar to SN2 US: The leftovers from SN2 AC, new stuff from DDR X, and some songs from releases prior to SN2.But that's just me.

The Japanese home version of DDR X should be out sometime around February 2009 (I'm basing this on the release dates of the previous two games). We'll be behind no matter what. Why, I don't know.Post #1617 · Posted at 2008-08-03 12:13:22pm 17.2 years ago

It's no term of endearment. Why even think this game will be any different? For better or for worse, this will be the same type of game as every game since MAX. Thinking otherwise is naive, stupid, and a waste of time.
My worries are that indeed this game will be no different than last year, and that's what it seems to be, although admittedly I don't anywhere near enough information to make a conclusion so I'm not going to denounce X, and will continue to be excited for it.
But I have to take issue with the argument that every game has been the same since MAX. They haven't. EXTREME2, the pinnacle of North American CS games, wasn't based off an arcade version. For this reason, there were no expectations, and despite that, all my lack of expectations were still shattered with unique videos for every song, a wealth of great music that wasn't really that old at that point, killer licenses, awesome new KOs, and it just oozed thought and polish. It was also the first game to not rely on a large amount of repeats, and marked a change in the CS design strategy.
However, they haven't really changed how they've done things since EXTREME2, and that's a problem, since the 'amalgamation of new to the region songs from all over the place' strategy doesn't work when we have arcade machines now being legally released here. I know people who don't keep track of the home scene, and have played SuperNOVA2 only to wonder why the home release so poorly reflects it when they both share the same name. It makes no sense, and it makes no sense for X to be released a good 2 months before the arcade machine is even out, which will also be released here. Perhaps SuperNOVA got a lucky draw, since it was pretty damn close, but SuperNOVA2 is anything but, and not just for songs, also for the core game engine. Want to select Alice? Tough. Want a new costume? Tough. Want toasties in Course Mode? Tough, that part was ripped verbatim out of SuperNOVA with no changes.
The design strategy hasn't changed, but it's based on a game that wasn't meant for the current DDR scene, and releasing arcade machines here brings with it different expectations. I also have no right to gripe if I fail to voice my concerns, so here I am. DDR is the only game that seems to get away with this; arcade ports are generally extremely faithful to the machines, barring hardware constraints. Why should we expect anything less of DDR?

My idea is if Arcade made first on Japan version, USA version have a great chance to get almost Japanese licensed ang Konami original songs but don't do it again like DDR MAX USA that only have 1 licensed song from DDR 6th Mix, Ordinary World while Japan version have 20+ licensed songs (Complete, no missing songs). That a huge difference.

If the North American release is as close to the arcade as the Japanese releases are, Aeron will be one happy panda.

Furthermore, it is responses like this that lead me to believe I am not alone in my concerns over the current North American CS DDR strategy.
