Nintendo Switch

Eh, I'm still skeptical on BotW. Skyward Sword received rave review scores as well, but most people later agreed that it was one of the worst Zelda games yet. I think I'd like to go off of personal reviews first before I make the purchase.

For those who didn't know, Nintendo has coated their Switch cartridges with some kind of bittering agent to discourage kids from swallowing it. I eagerly await seeing people do the "cartridge tasting challenge" once the system releases tonight .

My gamestop only had gray (grey) joycons left. If I need a 2nd set of joycons in the future, then Ill get the red/blue ones..

BUT, I am going tonight and in line I am gonna blast some of the popular nintendo songs throughout its life to make people more excited!

Setting mine up for Twitch so I can jump right into streaming as soon as I get off work tonight, but that won't be for another eleven hours or so.

I looked everywhere for the Switch and it sold out at all the stores including Best Buy and Walmart in Canada...And sadly, I didn't have a chance to get my hands on the Switch.

Can't tell if really wanted or understocked.

Probably understocked. IIRC when the Switch was available for preorder online it was sold out pretty quickly.

However I did read that some stores had a limited stock if you didn't preorder, so there's that as well.

Is it really that hard to find? I bought mine at Target today, and there were two systems in stock. I didn't preorder.

It's too bad that once again, scalpers got a hold of them, and many are going for $450+ on Amazon and ebay.

I know Nintendo likes to lean on their old IPs for success, but there's fucking nothing out at launch beyond Legend of Zelda and Snipperclips.

I'm surprised that nobody's talking about Fast RMX. I haven't played it (obviously), but from what people tell me, it's one of the definitive launch titles for Switch. 30+ tracks, great load times, sweet graphics, awesome use of HD Rumble, and it only costs 20 bucks.

Like... seriously, more people should be talking about this game.

It looks decent but I have TrackMania on the computer and that fills my zippy-arcade-racing hole quite nicely. And we all know that Nintendo have a well established franchise that people ACTUALLY /WANT/ to get another game that Fast RMX is pretty similar to...

Yeah, 1, 2, Switch just looks like WarioWare Vs. It seems more like something that would come with, or cost $20 separately at most.

Yeah, I think it's too overpriced. There's no excuse for it to has a price of a full game. It has only ~30 minigames and that's it, that's everything the game has. Sure, it could be fun at parties, but it's destined to get bored due to its repetitive gameplay.

From what I've seen so far, 1-2-Switch only has about 5-6 minigames actually worth playing, and the rest range from mediocre to unplayable. I'm not putting down a Ulysses S. Grant for a trade-off like that.

This is a tech demo of the most despicable order. Wii Sports was a pack-in title and Nintendo Land actually had substance, but this is next-level jaunch.

That's a first for Nintendo; I've had terrible luck with Sony when it comes to buying Playstation consoles from launch, either later down the line {howdy, PS2 and 3 respectively getting Disc Read Errors/YLOD}, or immediately after purchase, like when the PS4 has that defective fan problem that Sony insisted only "0.5%" of consoles had. I've never had that problem with Nintendo (and thankfully, I still don't). 0-o

Surprisingly, my local Best Buy, where I got my Switch from without any pre-orders, had plenty of consoles to go around, both the gray and colored version. In fact, I've seen plenty of people walk out with 2 or even 4 of them (presumably to try and upcharge them on eBay, similar to when the PS3 launched), and there were still enough Switches to go around for the entire line.

On the flipside, the Walmart nearby only had 12 units, and I would not have wanted to have been part of that line. So it's probably gonna be a matter of being lucky and having local stores having an equal amount of supply and demand.

Also, Nintendo must've been high for not having 1-2 Switch be a pack-in game, considering it's essentially a glorified tech demo like how Wii Sports and Nintendoland were. >>

Also, can I just say how really easy it is to make a Japanese eShop account?



Now to wait for Konami to release Sound Voltex/IIDX CS on the Switch...
