Shitposting aside, didn't Dave and Buster's announce some sort of "First Wave" in which half the locations will be getting a new DDR title of sorts which will occur this Summer? I kind of wonder if that implies of a "Second Wave" some time later. I'm curious about this because the D&B in Oklahoma City just replaced their failing X2 with a PIU: Prime. I don't know how many locations did this, but I can't imagine that they'd be so hasty as to replace the Pumps so soon, unless they'd be willing to make room for both, or for locations that have no dance game like the one in Tulsa to receive a DDR.

I believe locations with no dance game are getting priority on this, which is really good news for me.

This is good news for anyone.
Also, is "Captain King" or whatever he's called new?

He's a successful producer, but he's 'new' to Bemani, as far as I know, unless he had a hand in any of the Yuniver Hills songs.

That's assuming it's actually going to be Giorgio Kanchemi, and not a random alias someone made up, which is already in use by another musucian, as they did with Spriggan ^^;

I'm very much hoping that they'll start replacing the broken-down SuperNova and X games that they have at movie theatres. There are no D&B in my area, so those are the only games that are available to play. Is that unrealistic?

Regrettably, I imagine the only hope that'll have is that those DDR cabinets had enough interest to warrant replacing them. Though unless anyone knows how much those new cabinets cost, or how much DDR: Ace cabs will cost when those come out, it's just a matter of luck, I'd say.

Fyes. I'm not seeing why they had nice choreographed dances for X and then never... ever did those again. The old-school dance moves were fun, the male dance moves from Supernova were cool, and the female moves were, um, average. But then the X generic move set has been... sort of odd. I get that they don't want to go lightning speed, and it's not like I can choreograph... tl;dr put in the DanEvo dances pretty please?

For me, the least-to-most-distracting rank goes like...a BG graphic or boring monochromatic screen > the dancers on a stage > withs a full-screen BG video somewhere in the background > full-screen BG videos > full-screen videos + dancers. Unless they're doing a really cute routine that I want to see... which is a personal problem.

The dancers are promotional fodder. It doesn't make sense for Konami to prioritize the songlist over them, obviously, but it also doesn't make a lot of sense (to me) to discard them since they're perfect for merchandise, advertisements, events, etc. I think one of the issues they've been scrambling with is "who is the mascot?" Rinon? Emi? Afro? Baby-lon? please no I would say they're overpopulated, but then I look over at Pop'n...

Kid of a tangent, but Alice was pretty popular back in X2... recent visit to the nerd part of Japan revealed that said part of Japan is idol crazy. I think Love Live echoed in my brain during the day while Star Myu played at night. Erm. Moral is, there's a smidge of potential in her. Besides already having idol-y songs in DDR as it is...

There is no announced location test for the game yet, HANDS UP IN THE AIR will be added as a preview song to DDR today, but otherwise there are no confirmed dates for anything.

I could have sworn someone reliable reported that there was a location test on the 22nd. Must have been some misinformation.

It doesn't stand for anything as far as we know, but Japanese players who are used to pronouncing the song 'A' as 'Ace' and 'AA' as 'Double Ace' are already pronouncing the title of the game that way, so it's probably going to stick, unless Konami reveal it to stand for something that's pronouncable in Japanese phonology ^^;

A lot of people seem to be mentioning that this looks a lot like ITG 3. This is an extremely long shot, but what if this gets released as DDR A in Japan, but rebranded as ITG 3 in the rest of the world? Again, not likely to happen, but it's a nice idea.
