Yeah, those MP3s come from HDD rips I believe.

The content stored in the HDD will be very similar to what's on a PS2 DDR game I believe and therefore SHOULD be hackable.

According to some of my friends, what's stored on the DVDs are just RAW HDD files waiting to be directly transferred to the hard disk.

Think of burning a DVD image but to a HDD, that's how I believe that works.

So if someone knew the programming language for the PS2 (or if it's encrypted, decrypted it), one could theoretically copy a SN2's HDD and hack it, then re-insert it into the arcade unit?

In theory I think that's true.

Just backup the executable, modify, save, put it in the machine, done.

If SN2 comes with a default songlist and no way to unlock content, I'd like to talk with our arcade's manager about that, and see about it.

QUOTE BY CoreyBlaze: "...we would have heard Uranus too by now, unless for some strange reason the person who uploaded PlutoR doesn't want us to listen to Uranus."

Well I STRONGLY think that the video posted on Nicovideo is ACTUALLY Uranus by Tatsh

Uranus???

Maybe the same thing happens with this video as it did with PR...everybody tought it wasn't and it ended being that song at last!!!

DDR isn't hackeable in the same way ITG is. ITG is relatively easy to hack because basically, it's Stepmania, and the "anti-hacking" security of the machine can be bypassed with ease.

i thought i saw an AIJ a while back that someone managed to add songs to 6th mix, but i dont remember if it was AC, CS, or me being retarded.

I think a ITG machine is easy to hack due to it uses USB ports. You can put things in a Flash drive besides songs and edits.;)

If there are any ports at all on a SN2's computer/HDD/whatever, it should be possible to access the files on a second computer with some network cable-like thingy, maybe. If SN2 comes out with a default list, I'm definitely going to look and see what kinds of ports there are. Who knows? maybe it's easily hackable (UNLOCKS.INI DURR EDIT THIS TO PLAY PLUTO), or impossible (encrypted, all of the data is one file, no *regular* USB/LAN ports).

I was wondering if the e-amuse port would work (should be present on an NA SN2), or if a signal could be run through it to unlock content.

that chart was pretty hot, and so was the song. i wouldnt be upset if that showed up in SN2, but i'm not getting my hopes up. the chances of pluto-R and uranus getting leaked like that? unlikely.

This one is a lot more believable, but I still have my doubts.

As far as hacks go, I'm pretty sure I've heard of Extreme ACs with custom songlists. I've definitely seen one with selectable Brake and Wave, anyway (though I didn't use them because there was a hacked r21 right next to it - just went on the DDR for unlock scores, tried doubles and found out D2 didn't respond).
Play my game Arcana Seal of Rimsala (SNES)!

I guess we won't know until the game actually is realeased in North America (or Uranus is unlocked in Japan before that time)

Well at least one of the Uranus's is fake... I like the YT version better than NND's though. Tongue

Sounds pretty convincing.
It has the slow down following the other songs, and although not by a great amount, it sounds similar to Tatsh's work.

One could always try and get into touch with those who were at the NJ test and ask them... Tongue

Another thing to note is that NND's Uranus is about 2 minutes long, while most DDR songs seem to be around 1:20 - 1:40. It's as long as several different ITG songs.

L'amour et la liberté (Darwin & DJ Silver remix) is 1:59 and is the longest new SN2 song currently. Smile

And Uranus, you'll find out in a few weeks hopefully. Big Grin

Goldensunboy you got the 8000th post in the forums. ;D

Wow! Shocked I would have expected one of the older members to get some x-thousand post like that.

And, interesting, I didn't know any DDR songs were that long. I'm gonna go play that song now.

Still, YT's Uranus still sounds more like a planet song, and more Tatsh'ish to me.
