This event is bullshit though and I refuse to participate in it. Getting tired of pouring money into the game to have to spend like 50-70 tickets anyway grinding out each MAS chart, let alone stuff like this.

Yeah, as I said before, this event is a shamelessly pay-to-win bunch of BS. It's moved my opinion of the premium ticket system from "meh, whatever" to "I'd rather spend 300 yen on a 100-yen coin." I find it downright insulting, as if the ref came up to each player in a sports game and said "For 5 bucks, I'll pretend not to notice your next foul." And as a result, I couldn't possibly give less of a crap about the leaderboards.

Between this and the always-on DRM, it's really put a damper on what could be such a good game. Sigh, Capcom. I used to love them, but ever since Inafune left, it's been one screw-up after another. If I were Naoki Maeda, I'd be heading over to Konami to beg for my old job back right about now.

(I was trying to hold it in and not to be too acerbic before, but seeing as how someone else has opened the door, I'm more than happy to follow suit.)

The Flawless Attack event is now over. I just missed out on the top 700 :/

There are a couple new News items, but I can't read Japanese so I don't know what exactly they say. One is possibly a new event called "Ver.Up" and may involve a new difficulty called ULTIMATE. If my guessing is right, it runs on the January 8th from 10:00 to 18:00 (Japan time). This could be completely off so don't take my word for it.

The other has to do with tickets, I think. Right now (until Jan. 21st?) all difficulties are only 5 tickets and tickets regen one per 20 minutes. Also, Wanna Be Your Special, 雨の音が虹を呼ぶ, and キミとMUSIC are only 3 tickets.

This is all just guesswork based on observation and the few English words and numbers in the news. An actual translation or clarification would be much appreciated.

My Japanese is quite poor but it seems to me that "Ver.Up" is just a big update, and the reason why the game will be under maintenance on January 8th from 10:00 to 18:00; I didn't find any reference to a future event.
This update will bring, among other things, new missions and the ULTIMATE modifier.

You're right about the 5 ticket price for all charts until the 21st, the discount on those three songs and the new ticket recharge time.

That said, I'll comment on how ruthless the last event was; playing ロマンシングゲーム HARD more than 40 times just barely got me into the top 700 with 15k points. Guess I wasn't the only one that really wanted Reseed.
The AKATSUKI game skin is cool though.

I'm so upset that I couldn't get Reseed this time; it was poor timing on my end. Maybe Capcom could rehost the same 3 missions again some day.

Figures. I initially thought Ver.Up was going to be an update. That's what I get for thinking too hard, haha. I wonder what ULTIMATE does, maybe it's like STEALTH.

Here are the brief update notes:

Is it just me or did the recent update increased the FPS of the game while playing a song? Shortly after the update, I earned the 1st different game skin, so I changed it to that (the gray/white one with the text scrolling up/down) and I started playing a song at 60FPS.

I'm not sure if it was that skin or the update...need to test more after this maintenance. (played on iPhone 4).

How are you even playing after the update? I can't get in, it just pulls up the update info and brings me back to the start screen. Isn't the maintenance period still going?

Also, quick question, is anybody taking pictures of the jackets for all these songs? I'd like to get a hold of some of them for simfiles. I'd do it myself but my iPad mini isn't with retina so they wouldn't be as good.

What I've figured out so far about the new update:

+ Ultimate Mode seems to work kinda like EX Hard in IIDX, except only Flawless recovers your gauge. A Super deducts a miniscule amount (try getting a Super with a full gauge, it'll stop blinking), and a Cool deducts a small but noticeable amount.
+ Unlike IIDX's DJ Points, if you clear a song on Ultimate Mode that you previously got a normal clear on but don't beat your previous record, the 1.2x RP applies to your new score only.
+ Ultimate Mode can't be used in an Unlock Challenge. You can still turn it on in the options, but when you start the song, it'll be disabled.
+ The retry discount seems to depend on how far into the song you played. The further into the song you are, the more tickets it costs to retry. Retrying from the results screen gives no discount. (To see this, you can pause and hit Retry to see how many tickets it'd cost on the confirmation screen then cancel.)
+ You can't change options on a retry.

2 new songs have been added into collection mode, and one new song has been revealed so far:
Zi / cybermiso / 25-48-86 (note: the "i" is in square brackets, i can't enter this in because it messes with the bbcode)

It's apparently obtained by earning 1,500 rank points. Even the top ranker right now still has 34 points to go to unlock it.

Using the Ultimate mod increases the RP you get from a song, so it's definitely worth giving it a try if you need RP. I gained 9 points from using it without even beating my old score on it.

Apparently unlocking the Master chart of Z[i] / Cybermiso only requires you to let the music plays until the end without doing anything...

No, that's someone's else's Unlock Challenge. It was set to reward 100 Support Points regardless of performance, rather than a much higher amount for clearing with a good grade.

So does anyone know what decides which friend's shared song shows up in game play? It seems to change out every now and then, but I can't figure out what causes it. (Link Energy?) A little frustrating at the moment as I will need to play Break Your World soon to unlock headphone party, but the only friend who has it shared (Telpie) got removed from my Shared Song folder wheras it was available there last time I played yesterday.
