I have yet to see any players from around here and I've been here for a year, lol.
Not saying no one plays (not counting people who play once in their life and forget ddr/whatever)...but that's how I'm seeing it.

"Don't get depressed!"
Well, I'm going to start checking out the machines around town. I should start being out to play a few times a week. I want to see what kind of shape the PIU NX machine is at Aloma Bowl because that's right down the road from me, and I want to see if the Pump Pro at McDonald's on I-Drive is actually fixed now.

That PIU NX at Aloma Bowl is so close to me. I think it was in alright shape. Saw a couple play on it and having fun.
Then again....it's NX...so...

I haven't played a whole lot of NX. We used to go and play on the machine at Old Town in Kissimmee when they had it, but that's about it. Maybe I'll check out D&B's one day this week, too.

Like I said, I've been out of it for a while, lol. I played heavily at Magical Midway, and before that at Rocky's Replay for several years. Does that place even exist anymore?
Yes, it does, but I avoid it like the plague since it allows smoking. Smoking + DDR = the reason they say secondhand smoke causes cancer.

I'm thinking about getting a Disney Quest annual pass because a good friend of mine plays there quite a bit.
I've been meaning to hit that in the evening to see how their current DDR X2 machine is. If it's in decent condition, I might spring for an annual pass. It's not much more expensive than when I first had one 10 years ago. That's where and when I discovered DDR.

How much is the annual pass? 45/90 bucks?

I started at Rocky's Replay back when they were on 436 next to Hooters in Casselberry. It started as a joke when a friend was like "Hey let's play that DDR game, it will be funny." We played a round, and she was like "Okay, ha ha, that was funny," but I was hooked, and I kept playing for the rest of the day.

When I looked it up, it said 48 for one day, 96 for the year, I think. If the machines are in good shape, I don't have a problem spending the money.

And I'm here in Tampa, alone (except for a guy I know with an oITG cab in his apartment) with a trickle of EXTREME's, upgraded SN from an EXTREME, SN2 that might not even be there, and a pretty shoddy X2 cab with one side almost unplayable...

Oh, and this 'one-of-a-kind' DDR machine

I remember it being like that in Orlando, too! I miss it, but I understand people grow out of things, get bored, move on, etc.

Would any of you guys be interested in meeting up somewhere in Orlando to play in the near future?

Make it a Wednesday night at Dave & Buster's.

I can be up there next Wednesday night. I work bankers hours, so weeknights and weekends are the only times I can get out.

To be extra cheap, we can each chip in 2 bucks each to make 10 dollars and do a power hour.
Swipe the card every minute and get more credits than you'll ever play on the machine...

yep yep
Weekdays 4(:30pm)-7:00pm. [unless it is anyday, unsure]
Buy it in that range and the 1hour deal starts when you start your first game.

I only do this because I don't feel like spending tons on a machine that might not exist in the upcoming future.
Not saying X2 will disappear....but the last time I had high hopes on a machine, it died (beatmania iidx).
Also, Konami took down their editor (the .dat zip generator or whatever, the important thing in the site, not the actual editing program they had on the web browser), so you can't play your own edits (unless you did it before May something 2013).

Sure you can pay 100 bucks and have lots of credits and spend them anytime...
But in this deal you can have infini (well, 60...still a lot) plays on the cab and not worry about failing because you'd have another credit waiting for you. I thought it was going to not be enough for 2 people, but my friend and I got tired by credit 30 and left the cab with 30 credits remaining on it.

the X2 at DnB is alright... volume is rather low though and they usual will never turn it up. Im at Disneyquest every thursday because PiU Fiesta 2 is an amazing creation.... the X2 there works pretty decently because the one tech guy actually cares about music games although we did just lose the right arrow on the 1p side so it was replaced with an old school arrow until he gets new ones. The Re-Rave cabs still work really good as well.
