[SM5 Theme] waiei

So do I. I'm using Waiei for the first time and I love it. I have a feeling I will be using it for quite awhile :-)

btw I found a little bug in this v 1.30 version

when you used HAISHIN Mode, the background won't be smaller like the previous versions when you play it in offline mode. it works in online mode though

v 1.31 will be out when SM5b2 is released.

Known problems so far in the v 1.30 (the bolded one is the one that will be fixed in the next version, the rest is probably on progress of fixing or they don't have any idea how to fix it):
1. Theme Options sometimes doesn't work (if you change anything in the Theme Options, it won't change anything)
2. after the Stage Screen, if the background's aspect ratio is not 4:3, sometimes part of the background is blackened out
3. in Gameplay Screen, there's a small unused graphics on the top left of the screen
4. in SM5b2, the configuration file (most probably UserPrefs folder) is changed. your theme and waiei Options will be resetted to the default setting
5. extra1.crs and extra2.crs isn't working
6. the custom scoring script available in waiei won't work in SM5b2 as the score calculation system is changed in SM5b2.
7. Network Play Result isn't working properly -> Reconnect to the server (after connecting and played a song, disconnect and connect to the server again)
useless bump and new fixes issued for v 1.31
1. BPM isn't showed correctly in MacOSX
2. Video lag problem
3. No border for BPM in Network Play
4. Some speed settings isn't saved (I experienced it when using speeds above 5x, I played the other song and changed the speed, the speed shifted back to 4x)
5. Groove radar in Network Play doesn't show correctly (I fixed it myself by pressing Ctrl+Start once, and then the radar shifts back to the original values)
6. Difficulties in the courses that use different difficulties for the songs don't show correctly.
7. Rave mode fixes (no one play this, right)

I have a quick question, how do I update the theme? I don't want to re-download the entire pack, so is there another way?

IIRC since around 1.20 they said don't update the theme, instead delete the old one (in the StepMania folder) and extract the new one.

DMAxel I had the same problem, but then I went to Options->Waiei Theme Colors and after choosing a color it works fine now

I seem to be having the same problem. I tried setting the color in the Waiei Theme Colors as Scarz said and it still crashes with the same message. This is in a fresh install of stepmania 5 alpha 3.

In the Options menu you will see an entry called Welcome Waiei. Just hit start through the introduction and you will be asked to select a preset for the settings. Even if you hit Later, this initializes the theme and fixes the error.

v 1,312 released (lol it's from 5 days ago)

Fixes:
1. Fixed Select Music that crashes in some cases (they fixed something about the _fallback reference, but I don't know the details lol)
2. Reloading (the theme? the songs? citation needed) when using AutoSetStyle won't crash anymore
3. added a script that warns you if you use SM5a1-SM5a2

btw for people experiencing the Select Style error, it's actually because you use SM5a2 or older (that's what they said in their twitter account)

Well, I got the same error on beta 1a until I initialized the theme. Setting up all the same options manually beforehand didn't help, but just going through the motions of the Welcome screen did. *shrug*

...And after upgrading to the newest version of the theme I get the error whether I initialize the theme or not. Hmm...

Under Options / SM5 Default Theme Options

change AutoSetStyle to "Off."

This fixed the error about a style not being set, for me.

v 1.313 released (June 4th)

Changes:
1. Select Music bug when using AutoSetStyle fixed. Now AutoSetStyle is automatically disabled.
2. Waiei is lighter now.
3. Fixed course mode display.
4. Fixed timing problem when using Screen Filter in 2 Players play.
5. Full combo mark now appears in the result
6. Score script now works in SM5b2
