So how does losing team members work? Is it, the member who came very last will join the team of the member who came first? What if the very last place was on the very first place's team? How is that resolved?

The winning team of the week gets to pick one member from the last place team.

It's overall team points. You vote for your best simfile then that file will get points along with the team getting points. So if your simfile gets no points and the rest of your team picks up the slack, then that team can still win. To win, this contest requires teamwork.
